Fight Club is now considered "classic"? Ugh...I feel so old.

Rumors that Warner Brothers will be filming Batman vs. Superman and a Justice League movie back to back picked up a little steam last week when the costume designer for BvS mentioned in an interview that the movie will be filming for almost 9 months. That's a really, really long movie shoot.

The other big news for the movie is its release date competition. When WB moved the release date for Batman vs. Superman it chose a date previously occupied by an untitled Marvel movie. Well that movie now has a title and its Captain America 3. It'll be the first time Marvel and WB/DC face-off head to head with the same release date, and in my opinion its a pretty cocky move by Marvel. I don't care how successful your movie universe is, Captain America is not going to beat Batman at the box office.

Outbreak is occasionaly hokey, and its hard to imagine any of them in our current smartphone/internet environment, but I think all hold up as good films. Speed and the Fugitive especially.

Outbreak was one of those movies that I liked, but could never really explain why. I agree with Shaf that the "Don't drop the daiscutter!" monologue was pretty not good... actually, the whole helicopter sequence was awful. But it's a pretty good story, overall.

Interesting nugget: The character Dustin Hoffman plays is sort of an amalgam of several research clinicians and epidemiologists, one of whom is Don Francis; the whole Ebola sequence that opens the movie is taken directly from Dr. Francis' experience in Africa in the late 70s (minus the FAE bomb drop, of course). Dr Francis is also played by Matthew Modine in the fantastic HBO movie "And The Band Played On" about the medical community's early work during the first years of the AIDS epidemic in the 1980s.

That definitely sounds like a double shoot. To give it some perspective, principal photography/physical production for The Lord Of The Rings was about 14 months. (Plus about a month of pickups each for the individual films)

Just watched Dallas Buyers Club. I had no idea what it was about, but saw that it won a ton of awards, and it was at redbox, so why not? Wow. I now see why it won so many awards. Was a fantastic movie.

New captain America looks gnarly, but from the previews, I can't help but feel like they got a bunch of 2nd graders together to polish up the dialogue. It's terrible
