Outbreak is occasionaly hokey, and its hard to imagine any of them in our current smartphone/internet environment, but I think all hold up as good films. Speed and the Fugitive especially.
Outbreak was one of those movies that I liked, but could never really explain why. I agree with Shaf that the "Don't drop the daiscutter!" monologue was pretty not good... actually, the whole helicopter sequence was awful. But it's a pretty good story, overall.
Interesting nugget: The character Dustin Hoffman plays is sort of an amalgam of several research clinicians and epidemiologists, one of whom is Don Francis; the whole Ebola sequence that opens the movie is taken directly from Dr. Francis' experience in Africa in the late 70s (minus the FAE bomb drop, of course). Dr Francis is also played by Matthew Modine in the fantastic HBO movie "And The Band Played On" about the medical community's early work during the first years of the AIDS epidemic in the 1980s.
