This has me thinking.

If someone goes sees an M. Night Shamalamadingdong movie is it already ruined because you know there is a twist ending?

I don't think hearing there is a twist ruins the twist. It might take away from the shock value of it but it isn't ruined. If I told you there was a twist at the end of Empire Strikes Back would it have ruined it?

I think it can go either way, depending on what it is.

The ads for next week's 24 finale say "THERE ONE MORE TWIST LEFT!" so you start thinking about what it could be in terms of the story you've been following. Whenever it happens it will probably not be as exciting or extreme as they're making it out to be.

I remember my mom seeing the Sixth Sense when it came out on DVD. I'd seen it but didnt get the surprise. My mom knew of it and knew immediately what was really going on, so knowing of it had her looking for it.

When a twist is a slight of hand thing, like they quietly set it up in the background, if you know of it you're more likely to spoil it for yourself. When its something blunt like Empire Strikes Back it just happens. Nothing really forshadows it too much, save one small scene.

I don't consider a twist to be foreshadowed at all. If it is...it's not a twist.

I watched a movie on Netflix called The Conspiracy. It was a fake documentary style thriller about digging deeper in conspiracy theories. It started off strong and totally fell apart about a half hour in, and only got worse.

I was disappointed, because it was pretty well regarded from what I saw online, and Netflix had it at a 4* recommendation, which almost never happens.

Sounds like something that would be on History's H2 channel.

The Spy Who Came in from the Cold is a quality film.
I never noticed that HCMT looks like Richard Burton.

PensFanInDC wrote:Contracted

It's available on Netflix streaming. A woman has a one night stand/is date raped (it's kinda iffy but I would lean more toward date rape) and obviously contracts some sort of STD. Over the next 3 days she deals with the symptoms and the reactions of people around her.

I gave it 3 stars. It could have been 4 but the actions of a lot of people in the film are really unbelievable. For instance, this woman works at a restaurant and she (finally) is going to the doctor when her boss calls. She tells him she is on the way to the doctor and that it's an emergency. Her boss tells her to come in until someone else can take over for her. What restaurant manager would willingly ask a SICK employee to come to work and handle food that is being served to customers?

Overall it's pretty good. It comes in at just under 90 minutes so it's worth the watch. Pretty awesome ending IMO. Nice twist.

Do not watch while eating...

I'm going to try to watch this tonight. Ran across it a few times on NF and it seemed interesting.

Will the gyro, pepperoni/bacon pizza and scotch beforehand cause me problems?

About an hour into Monuments Men. This movie has some of the worst, most stilted dialogue in all my years of watching movies. How such a talented cast can sound like a bunch of high school drama students is beyond me. This movie sucks so much

We turned it off. Such a disjointed, crappy script. Somehow worse than the reviews suggested

I burned myself out on that watching it over and over again back when it originally came out, then again a few years ago. I think i'm due to watch it again...and hopefully learn from past mistakes.

When I was 13 my parents got me a tv/vcr combo for my birthday along with a Waynes World VHS. I went to sleep watching it for over a year.

Side note: my phone does not recognize VCR or VHS and wants to autocorrect it...

It's practically a sin how bad that movie is. With that cast it should have been amazing.

I thought Edge of Tomorrow was pretty decent. Cruise was solid, and Blunt was pretty good too.
