My buddy went to college in Rochester, NY. To haze new pledges they would hire a bus and drive up to Canada, getting the noobs poop faced along the way. They would stop at the border and tell them to get $40 in Loonies, they went to a strip club, and none of the noobs were allowed back on the bus until they had tipped all $40 to the dancers..... who were not as appreciative as you might have thought.

Ed Schultz ... :face:

He's calling Detroits bankruptcy a Republican failure.

Apparently Ed has missed the last 50 years... Any way this has to do with a city not diversifying itself. Once the car industry left it became a hell hole.

From Dr. Bonneau's blog post: "Simply put, I don’t think a free society is compatible with an organisation like the NSA in its current form."

Sums it up perfectly. There isn't much more to it than that, really.

Picking up on c2i's post elsewhere....

Liberal media love new Jesus book 'Zealot', fail to mention author is Muslim
http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2013/07/ ... z2aSEZzCA8

I feel like Aslan is pretty consistent in discussing the fact that he's a Muslim.

So what exactly is the secret?

Aslan discloses his Muslim-ness on page two of the book. He has also written books called "No god but God: The Origins and Evolution of Islam", "Beyond Fundamentalism: Confronting Religious Extremism in the Age of Globalization" and "How to Win a Cosmic War: Confronting Radical Religions". He seems like a pretty cool guy.

The 'secret' is the idea of an articulate, thoughtful, reasoned, non-jihading Muslim is anathema to Fox News and too many of its minions.

And here he is on Fox News the other day toying with the poor host of a show called "Spirited Debate".

Please note that for the near 10 minute duration of the interview, she asks one question about the conclusions of the book and basically spends the remaining time asking him why he - a Muslim! - would write a book about the baby Jesus.

Just over two years ago, on May 26, 2011, the House passed the 2011 Patriot Sunset Extension Act, which specifically reauthorized Section 215, the provision that underlies the NSA’s telephone metadata program. The House approved the bill by a comfortable 97-vote margin, with almost the entire GOP caucus — 196 Republicans — voting in favor.

Last week, it was a very different story when the House voted down an amendment by Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) that would have killed this vital intelligence program. The program survived by just seven votes. What changed? This time around 94 House Republicans voted against the NSA program — including 50 who had voted to authorize the exact same program two years before.

The author goes on to argue the merits of the program. :?

What changed is pretty clear: the program as written into law is not the same as the program in the field. Even the main architect of the USA PATRIOT Act (Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner -- R-WI) says the act does not authorize this sort of naked blanket warrant approach.

Of course, he rarely - if ever - attended any of the briefings the NSA gave to Congress on its 215 searches. And it's unclear if his position would have been different if this program came to light in 2007.

Four months ago he called gay marriage the devil's work and a "destructive attack on god's plan", and said that gay adoption was tantamount to discrimination against children.

He's perfectly fine with judging gay people, be they clergy or otherwise.

http://www.usnews.com/news/blogs/washington-whispers/2013/07/29/poll-78-percent-of-young-women-approve-of-weiner

Anthony Weiner loves the ladies, and apparently they love him back.

Sugar daddy dating website SeekingArrangement.com found that 78 percent of female clients aged 18-26 approve of Weiner.

The website, which connects wealthy patrons with attractive clients, surveyed over 18,000 of its female members and discovered that 63 percent of all women surveyed approved of the New York City mayoral hopeful, with the highest approval ratings coming from the 18-26 demographic
