I'm putting this here since you all like to discuss politics. Would you like to do that over dinner?

Personally, I wouldn't.

I'd be happy to do it. Not because of the political aspect, but because I'm willing to bet that place is probably one of a very small number of outlets for exploring many of those cuisines in Pittsburgh.

I agree with what you're saying about the genesis. However my focus is on the public outrage that followed. I'm waiting for that same outrage in these cases.

Sure, I get the unique characteristics of the TM case, but I'm not sure how anyone can deny that the puic gets much more outraged over non-black on black than on black on non-black.

Personally, I think that ignoring or denying that fact only encourages and perpetuates the racial divide.

Again, I've said it before, take race completely out of the picture quit focusing on I either way and focus on the horrific crime itself. That's how to move forward.

The underlying principle is that some minorities feel oppressed by whites. The question is whether or not that feeling is justified or whether it is more of a self fulfilling prophecy/excuse.

IMO our system of closed public schools based on economics and the war on drugs definitely give some justification to that feeling.

Guy's up for federal employee of the year ; nominated by Holder. On a serious note this guy's job was procuring weapons foe DHS. One would think mzybe he should have had some kind of vetting to screen out such an individual.(won't call him a racist since blacks are incapable of racism according to progressive dogma). Can you imagine CNN and the rest of the major networks reponse if a white DHS guy had a website calling for killing blacks? Barry, Holder and the poverty pimp twins Jackson and Sharpton would be jumping for joy over such a story.

Japan to put global hawk drones into service:

http://thediplomat.com/flashpoints-blog ... e-by-2015/

Oh goody, now we're selling the technology to our allies.

This is certain to end poorly.

Japan already uses more drones domestically than we do. Global hawk is just a more well recognized and stupidly expensive one. Our air force doesn't use them anymore, gotta make money somewhere.

I didn't know that about "domestic" use in Japan. Interesting factoid.

My concern, in this particular case anyway, isn't use for surveillance purposes. (I don't live in Japan (Although it must suck for those that do)) It's that Global Hawk Drones aren't surveillance mechanisms, they're tactical weapons. That's what has me concerned.

My knowledge base on drones isn't as big as with manned tactical jets, but as far as I know the Global Hawk platform has never been weaponized. It's strictly a surveillance/intelligence gathering system. Not defending its use in this context, just pointing out that I don't think the people of Japan need to fear death raining down on them while they slurp their ramen.

I've seen RQ-4s at airshows before, and they're absolutely massive. I sorta had it in my head that a 'drone' was some glorified RC jet that you could disassemble and stuff into the trunk of a hatchback. But the first time I saw an RQ-4 I was taken aback. The GH is nearly 50' long and its wingspan is 2.5x that; thing weighs 15 tons when gassed up.

Here's one at Miramar, pic taken in 2010.

I stand corrected. I guess my confusion about weaponization was based on it's size.

Why?

Maybe you might want to look up the various definitions of the word before you go there.

Yeah, and apparently the analyst turned himself in. Couple that with the fact that the NSA doesn't have a prostitute's idea about files Snowden took; and it seems to be a very loosely controlled program.
