Have we seen definitive evidence that proves it was the Syrian government that used the gas and not one of the rebel groups?

Nope.

World Net Daily is relying on Russian news reports that it was the rebels:

I wouldn't rely too much on those sources, mind you. :pop:

Don't get me wrong, geographically speaking I love living in Maryland. From where I live I am within at most a 3 hour drive of everything from beaches to ski resorts, farm land, big cities, the nation's capital, shenendoah valley, and the chesapeake bay. Everything else sucks though.

Maryland = the government. It sucks.

Maryland the land is a fantastic place. Great weather, diverse, and close to a lot of things. But the government ruins it.

Maryland is currently making good money for gun companies because sales are soaring as people try to buy everything they want in advance of the effective date of the stupid, knee-jerk laws the legislature passed after Sandy Hook:

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/201 ... ency-hits/

Beretta, which for decades has had its U.S. headquarters and factory in Accokeek, is currently looking to move out of the state, and it will take approximately 400 jobs and $30 million in tax revenue with it when it leaves. Nice job, Maryland!

Obvious posturing by Beretta:

Despite Beretta's threats that the company would leave Maryland if new gun laws were passed and signed by Gov. Martin O'Malley, Beretta USA has no current plans to abandon its headquarters in Prince George's County.

In a statement sent to The Baltimore Sun Monday, Beretta USA board member and general counsel Jeffrey K. Reh said the company would not let the new law interfere with completing its contract to supply the U.S. Army with pistols.

That Bal Sun article and a few other more recent pieces note that while the HQ is remaining in MD Beretta will not be locating its three new facilities within the state.

That’s an old article. While Beretta will probably need to leave some manufacturing capability in Maryland to comply with its government contracts, it has shelved any plans to expand operations in Maryland and is still actively scouting plant locations in other more gun-friendly states like Georgia and the Carolinas. It will not add any jobs or manufacturing to Maryland.

In a similar vein, Kahr Arms recently bought land in Pike County, Pennsylvania, on which it will build its new headquarters. They are leaving New York due to their stupid new laws. They expect to eventually shift manufacturing to Pike as well (their guns are currently made in Massachusetts, which is another unfriendly state).

It would appear Putin has simultaneously embarrassed the president and bailed him out at the same time. The primetime conference tonight should be even more :pop: worthy

It seems to me that you are constantly tripping over yourself defending just about everything he does, whether it's widespread domestic surveillance, bombing Syria, etc. You don't strike me as a very consistent liberal :pop:

It's absolutely disgusting that the GOP and talking heads are preemptively criticizing Obama for taking credit for Russia's offer. Who cares? If you REALLY wanted to not have war, in whatever capacity, this accomplishes it and Assad won't have access to use these weapons, if he ever really did, and rebels can't get to them no either if they overrun a depot. Even if he says his threat of a strike prompted this along with Kerry offering a way out without violence isn't that maybe correct?

What a bunch of petty ****

He and Graham, mind you.

I don't blame Obama for taking credit, I was commenting more on the timing of Putin's offer, right before the big prime time special tonight. It will be interesting to hear how this turns out, since this is obviously a move that the rebels will assuredly NOT endorse.

Obama, McCain, Graham, etc have to accept that there is no winning hand, when the choices are the Baathists and Al Qaeda.
