I knew somebody that used to work at Gullifty's and she said that if people knew the things that went on in the kitchen and the condition of the kitchen, they'd never eat there. I haven't been there since the afternoon of the last Pitt-PSU game in 2000.

Looking for something exciting and new tonight. Preferably in Oakland or the North Hills, serving alcohol, and on the not expensive side. Any recommendations?

Brasserie 33 on Ellsworth closed. Time for the next failing restaurant there

that was in the paper the other day.

the silver lining is that its now really easy to get a parking spot on that stretch of ellsworth.

This begs the question, why is that six pack shop named "it's doggin it"? Should this be obvious? I'm a little baffled.

since the construction near the shady/ellsworth junction parking has been very nice on that stretch. i dont think brasserie had that much of an impact on it. one could argue the construction was the demise of brasserie but they were struggling before that. over priced and the place is actually quite dirty

Since I live in that area I've tried most of the place nearby and haven't found any I love, except maybe Noodlehead.

If I'm late getting home from work and don't want to cook I usually order a chicken burger at Sharp Edge w/ their buffalo bleu sauce.

The goat cheese and pepper jelly appetizer would probably be my favorite thing.

That's worded odd. The pepper jelly app is great. I had some sausage dish when I was at Legume and it was pretty good.

kenny the kangaroo went to noodles and company for the first time yesterday. this gentleman is generally not much of a noodle eater and the pad thai was pretty good. not like, geez lets go there again good, but good nontheless. it was, however, a reminder that soup season is on the way, and frankly soup season is great. cant wait to devour some pho.

Speaking of great places that closed down, the Cici's in Monroeville. Now a mattress store.

AT LEAST THEY DIDN'T HAVE TO CHANGE THEIR INVENTORY!

The Cici's have closed? I ate at the one in Cranberry a couple times. Sure, the pizza wasn't that great, but what would one expect for something like $10.

So me and my buddies are setting up base in Pittsburgh today on the way to Cleveland. Coming from Harrisburg, what's the best place we can eat at on the way through? Not looking for any food type in specific. Hopefully some place that won't take us way to the other side of the city.

assuming you'll be on the turnpike and not in pittsburgh?

cliche but if you've never been there, primanti's is cool. I think there's one in Monroeville.
