Huh. That wouldn't have been my guess for "restaurant in Oakland that made its customers crap blood."

It proves that most kitchens are disgusting no matter what the seating area looks like.

Hit up the Proper Brick Oven & Tap Room before a show downtown last week and was impressed (across from 7th St. grill where the old Tambellinis was). Tried the roasted peppers & mozzerella, black & gold pizza, and pesto pasta and all were quality - great pizza crust. Wood fired pizzas cooked right in front of you and over 30 craft beers on tap. Good atmosphere and quick service too. If you like beer & pizza you will enjoy!

One of my brothers is in town and ready to spend, so we went out the local bistro.
A great meal - and with lots of wine that I would never plunk down the cash for - and had escargot for the first time. Also some country pate.
And that was just the first course.

A great night.

I heard there was a Deluca's opened in the Pointe @ North Fayette area. Is this true?

Yes. Salad bar/cold bar area is really good, but avoid it and just eat meat. Flank steak and Picanha all night long.

they are really two styles of restaurants. the iron bridge inn is a little more "dressier" and formal and the menu is pricer. their big thing is prime rib. this gentleman doesnt really care for prime rib so its hard to comment on it. but kenny the kangaroo's ex gf thought it was really good prime rib.

rachaels roadhouse is a bit more casual and the menu is more geared towards sandwhiches and salads and whatnot. its a pretty cool environment to eat and the food isnt half bad.

Rachel's. Get the Filet Slices sandwich. Also get the homemade chips as an appetizer/side. The dipping sauce is pure heroin.

Tried new restaurant Truth. in south side where cafe allegro used to be. Pretty underwhelmed. Above average scotch and bourbon selection. Cheese plate and meat plate was average and entrees were over priced and bland. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing but everyone in our group had similar feed back

Went last night to TdB. Was pretty good. Rain Forest in Penn Hills is better, I think. More meat options, quality seemed a bit better. TdB had great desserts, though. Triple chocolate cake and Brazilian cheese cake rooled.

It's pretty much the same food as the strip location. I had a mixed grill with hot sausage and it was spot on, however the wait staff was mostly clueless. Overall it's traditional diner food in a much cleaner/easier to get to location.

I've never been to the strip either lol. But my coworker went and said he had a bacon cheeseburger and it was good just very greasy.
