I've never been in there. Always wanted to try it, but wasn't really sure where to go, how to order, etc. I needed a buddy :(

You're saying the market for a $6 hot dog has dried up? :pop:

I liked that place a lot. I played hockey with one of the guys who opened it, and they always made an effort to be good hosts. They were not, however, good restaurateurs at first, but came a long way since then.

Anyone remember the original name for Franktuary?

Went to Enrico's Cafe in the strip for the first time. I liked the aesthetic, food was just ok.

I can't. I do remember a lawsuit threatened over the original name, which is why it was renamed Franktuary.

EDIT: Googled "Franktuary's Original Name" - Hot Dogma

Apparently up on walnut street above shady grove closed for good. Another one bites the dust.

Yea I think they're reconfiguring it into something else. I went to Shady Grove Saturday night and they were actually using the space as overflow dining room.

Speaking of Shadyside, I ate at Stak'd on Copeland was week. Its in the spot Alto Lounge used to be in. I really liked it. For starters its pretty inexpensive, especially at happy hour. I think my burger was $6, a cajun spice fry appetizer was half off at happy hour, and pitchers of Miller Lite were $7.

Its definitely a good place to catch a game and have dinner. I also really liked the wings I tried.

I guess the same owners took over the Shadyside Saloon on Ellsworth, so I'm going to give that a try soon.

Last weekend I learned that walnut grill closed, that some people call shady grove, walnut grill. and shady grove has good happy hour specials.

Stack'd has gr8 mcdonalds style fries. Also, for the frugal folks of lgp.com, they have a coupon in the enjoy book.

I am going to a BYOB restaurant Saturday. Is it proper etiquette to show up with a 6 pack of beer or is BYOB usually like wine only?

I suggest a growler for BYOB beer. But a six pack isn't a problem, BYOB is inviting you to bring your own booze.

I thought the last B meant bottle as well.

Call the restaurant and ask if a 6 pack is acceptable.

A restaurant with good service put the remainder of your sixer in the fridge and bring you more of your beer as needed.

Took a personal day yesterday and was driving around enjoying the nice weather. I had a craving for Primanti's for some reason. I haven't had one of their sandwiches in about two years. I went in one of the suburban ones around 2PM and was there was only two other people there. I stopped at the bar and chatted with the bartender for a bit and had fast service. I got the Angus Steak sandwich with onions and a Yuengling. It was just so good for some reason. I don't know if it was my appetitie, or that it was a personal day from work (hence low stress), the weather, or all of the above but it was a great day. And now back to reality, *sigh* I'd love to work from home, but that is another topic.

Berlin Street Food. They had a cart at the beerfest. Best damn brat I've ever had. Roll was definitely from the Breadworks. The brat itself was just unreal. Seriously. If you see this cart around, give em a shot if ya like German food.

Later we got some crepes from PGH crepes. I got a "reeses" crepe that had peanut butter and chocolate. It was divine. My sisters got a berry one that had fresh strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and chocolate and they also loved theirs.
