yeah, 3 rivers 6 pack. I've only had their pizza and it's not bad, I hear their wings are terrific. you may not know this, but I quite enjoy their beer selection. I have a feeling the wife is going to want to find a new theater because every time we are in the area, it's an automatic stop in.

I would change "City Slicker Fried Chicken w/ biscuit" to "City Slicker Fried Chicken and Waffles."

And I will admit I love chicken and waffles, but before it was cool to do so. No, I'm not a hispter. I just like fattening food.

I really miss Bona Terra. I periodically google the chef to see if/when he opens a new spot, but nothing.

Beaver County recently got a restaurant called "The Ball Joint," dedicated to meatballs. Mrs. PghSkins and I are going there tonight.

I've only eaten there once. It was ok, but fairly overrated based on my experience, I'd have to say.

I like it for a change of pace but its not too far off of the "chain restaurant" feel .

Fuel and Fuddle reopening on Tuesday under new owners (a longtime manager bought it out from the Burgatory guys)

Hanley and Dilembo paid to replace the ventilation system after the fire, and Smith and Ripper have been upgrading the restaurant's paint, exterior, TVs and sound system. Ripper said most of Fuel & Fuddle's menu will stay the same, though he'll remove some less-popular items and make frequent updates. Smith said some connections he made with beer distributors and enthusiasts through the Korner Pub could translate into an expanded beer offering at Fuel.

Cheesecake factory update: This gentleman finished off the remaining 2,300 mg of sodium by finishing the leftovers from last night.

That place is the worst.

Why did I not know of The Yard until now? It's just a few blocks from my house. Must try it.

These guys bought a dive bar in Mt Lebanon and made it a beer snob place. I'm not sure they'll add many more taps or more bottles, but they'll definitely provide more specialized options. From my one experience, corner pub was a place that had 12 beers on tap, 10 of those i'd never heard of.

Ah. I must've gotten there too late then. Went there in January for the first time, and while I thought it was good, it certainly didn't wow me or anything.

slappybrown wrote:I liked Off the Hook, but thought it was too expensive. Not as high quality as it seems to think.

It's definitely not cheap, but the time I went there, I thought it was worth it. I enjoy my seafood, and the meal I had there was fantastic. Of course, part of that maybe had to do with the awesome special I had (don't remember the details of what it was -- Tuna plus something awesome), but still. Obviously not the type of place you go to on any sort of regular basis though, for monetary purposes.

Huh. I knew the same people owned Uncle Sam's and Joe Mama's, but I didn't realize they also owned Burgatory.

I understand Burgatory is doing well, but I'd wish they'd open more Uncle Sam's locations. One right next to my house would hit the spot, although that would probably take 10 years off my life expectancy.
