Anyone have any good places around Mcknight? Aside from Seib's and the usual.

Taj Mahal on McKnight is a tremendous Indian restaurant, and the Monday/Thursday dinner buffet is an absolute steal at $10. http://www.tajmahalinc.com

Have you been to Tamarind in Oakland Shyster? Very good Indian, best in the city IMO.

Yes, and I like Taj Mahal better. Tamarind in Oakland used to be Indica Indian Bistro. My during the Indica days, my brother ate there so often that he was on a first-name basis with the owner. When the owner sold, he took his recipes with him. IIRC, in my brother's opinion, the food under the new (Tamarind) ownership went way downhill. I don't think he even eats there anymore. I can ask him.

i think it depends on what you order. some of the stuff is very pedestrian. its all so bad for you. my gf used to work there so we would get free food all the time so im pretty much a master of their menu

I also eat fairly often at the Tokyo Sushi Buffet next to Best Buy. Decent sushi and a nice selection of hot dishes too. There's always Mad Mex too.

I live in Ross and I concur that while the McKnight corridor has plenty of restaurants, most of them are generic chains or aren't all that good. There's a distinctive lack of fine dining.

sesame inn is pretty good IMO.

I actually really like the Hunan Chicken and General Tso's from a place here called China 88. They may or may not have locations elsewhere. You're not gonna travel to Waynesburg to eat there, but I like it.

I know, it's usually all chain food restaurants and I hate that!
