Is there typically parking right next to it?

Supposed to have killer martinis. I'm not a martini drinker, so I can't vouch for that.

really? never been in there. we must be neighbors - Im right on Baum.

I tried your swamp rub wings the other day. I really liked it. the sauce was kind of similar to The Library's hottest sauce. It was hard to put a finger on exactly what the flavor was.

Though I was bummed they were fried - I figured fuel and fuddle would stick them in their brick oven.

I live on Centre and S. Aiken.

Glad you liked the SRW.

If there are no on-street spots open, there's a metered lot right behind Union Pig & Chicken. So parking is not a problem.

I wouldn't worry too much about East Liberty. Ten years ago, sure, but I think the Whole Foods and the associated development has done a lot to gentrify (or hipsterfy) the neighborhood. I can't remember hearing anything recently about shootings or robberies in East Liberty.

Meh, that part of East Liberty isn't bad. It's when you drift away from the commercial streets that you can run into problems.

The entire area around the Harvard and Highland intersection is under construction, so on street parking is more difficult. In addition to the metered lot Shyster mentioned (which I think is always enforced) is a bunch of meters on Broad street (which I believe enforcement ends at 6pm).

I think the area is great and I love living here. I can also get heroin in my Happy Meal just a few blocks up the street in Bakery Square.

If anyone is ever in Cleveland and wants a good (and pretty cheap) place to get some great margaritas and tacos, head to Barrio, in the Tremont neighborhood (http://barrio-tacos.com/). Parking is the hardest part as you need to do street parking, but the margaritas are very strong, and the tacos are pretty big for the price. Was here on Friday night and it was amazing.

I went to a few very good restaurants on vacation near Sarasota - an italian (Cafe Gabbiano on Siesta Key) and a spanish/cuban/carribean fusion one (The Columbia on St Armands Key). Both were great but both had most of their entrees named in italian or spanish.

Having never studied either of those I felt kind of uncomfortable ordering because Im sure I butchered the pronunciations and had to sound like a dumb yinzer. At Cafe Gabbiano I ordered Costolette di Vitello (a veal dish) and at the Columbia I tried a seafood dish I really liked called Pompano en Papillote. But I have no clue how to pronounce either.

Do most people screw up ordering these too? I always feel dumb ordering something I can't say and be judged by the wait staff.

The Columbia is kind of an institution in Florida - like an upscale Primantis would be in Pittsburgh. They have locations from the Tampa (over 100 years old) area across the state to St Augustine.

It was a place my parents had been going for 40 years so I definitely wanted to visit on my trip. Taking advice from the cooking thread I decided to try some seafood. This is what I got:

Pompano en Papillot
Boneless fillet of Pompano with seafood stuffing of shrimp, crabmeat, artichoke, butter and white wine, wrapped in parchment paper and baked. Served with yellow rice.

I thought it was delicious. The restaurant had their own fantastic hot sauce blend which they gave us or the appetizer. I thought if I disliked my entree that I would douse it. Not necessary - a good recipe and fresh fish were all I needed. Even a little dab of the hot sauce was out of place. But we did buy a few bottles to bring home with us.

Shame. I thought it was a great place. But it was usually empty when I went there. I think Bloomfield was a bad spot for it.

My credit card has a points system. Mostly they're pretty worthless but you can use them to buy bogo offers at many restaurants and places like museums. So its sort of like a Groupon (which I've never used).

I took a few on vacation with me and I felt like a moocher using them. $25 off a meal seems like a lot of margin to lose. Does anyone else feel weird using offers like this? I made sure to tip as if I hadn't had the coupon.

You mean you felt bad for the restaurant? They chose to be on there... (ironically the only one I ever went to was Grille 51 which is now closed)

Go on...

I was considering buying something from them. Deal seemed too good to be true, so I kinda figured it was and didn't buy.

I'm surprised that Groupon is still is business. Their customers (other businesses) can only use it for a short period of time, unless they want to take a real hit. And the market reflects that, as their stock is down 77.25% since inception.

I used to buy 1-2 per month. Haven't had a good deal come through in at least 6 months.
