I was getting an inkling that Christine was Deb and Lundy's shooter, but I'm glad to see they have some sort of motivation for her that supersedes the "reporter who needs a hot story" that it seems many people had expected.

I was getting an inkling that Christine was Deb and Lundy's shooter, but I'm glad to see they have some sort of motivation for her that supersedes the "reporter who needs a hot story" that it seems many people had expected.

I'll admit, I was kind of disappointed when that was all the motivation they had for her shooting them, but this gives it a lot more backing, it just seems like it's a better fitting story now. The whole Thanksgiving at Trinity's house was a great sequence too. One of the better episodes I've seen for a while.

I gotta agree with you there...I don't know where else the plot could have gone without disrupting the family life; it seemed like he'd finally set himself into that groove so there really wouldn't be any conflict without changing something. Kind of peeved it had to be that, but as far as shockers go, wow. I also like that they seem to be bringing the Dexter-Doakes dynamic back with Quinn, the show missed that as well. Next season will be a doozy, there's a lot of different places this could go.

Great ending. Didn't see it coming at all but when thinking about it afterward, there was no other way for it to end, short of killing Cody. Next season will be all about Dexter, single father. This season was pretty hit or miss for me. Some stuff was great, and some was downright stupid, but I loved the end.

I really hope next season opens with the crime scene at Dexter's house.

With Dexter seemingly gaining control over his Dark Passenger, it will be interesting to see not just how he copes with Rita's murder, but the fact that he ultimately enabled Trinity to kill her. His need to be the one to dispose of Trinity prevented Trinity from killing himself and prevented the police from apprehending him. With his new found "feelings" I could next season being less about Dexter the single father and more about Dexter the serial killer spiraling completely out of control. Sloppy kills, questionable targets, general disregard for his freedom, etc. The show could easily continue for a few more seasons, but I could see Rita's murder being the catalyst for what is ultimately the end, Dexter's identity being discovered.

The car crash at the end of the episode was fantastic. My only complaint is they gave away the outcome with the previews of next week and the whole season. I wish I hadn't seen that. I'm hoping this season rights the ship and recovers the series from a pretty poor season 3. So far, so good.

Old post, but I had to quote it Personally, I never watch the previews, and the above is one of the reasons why. It's a bit much, but I also try not to read the little text-info they have for each episode in the guide as well. I like knowing as little as possible about each new episode.

I enjoyed the season but it wasn't the best at times. First thought that came to my mind was how does Dexter explain why Trinity targeted his wife. I thought that could be a little dicey going in to next season. It also caught me when his sister was explaining to him about the Ice Truck Killer being his brother and stating something to the effect of how he's always been her constant. Thought that may be foreshadowing to her finding out his ways and having to make a huge decision based upon that.

Nobody is ever "lucky" to get cancer, but it seems that he has quite a curable form of cancer. So, I guess he's pretty lucky.

Wow. A lot of people had commented that he didn't look too good during the post-finale interview that featured him and Lithgow. Guess now we know why.

His father died of cancer, so I guess he's lucky his is treatable right now... those genetics are tough.
