STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — A Penn State sorority has apologized after a photo of members wearing sombreros and holding offensive signs at a Mexican-themed party circulated on the Internet.

Wait a second. Are there immigrants of Mexican decent in this country? Oh there are. Ok, do many of them mow lawns (see: landscape) to make money? Oh they do. Are there some of them that smoke a certain plant at times using the money they made mowing lawns to purchase it? Oh there are? What's the outrage. It's college. Boohoo they pointed out something that's true in jest. SNL has been doing this for decades without anyone crying. This is a big who cares.

If Chappelle did a skit involving the same subject matter, there would be youtube clips posted the same night with comments about Chappelle being a comedic genius.

Totally tarde to the fiesta on this, but at the very least these young women should be embarrassed at their incredible obliviousness as well as their gaucheness. They must have been sleeping under the rocks in the nearby quarry for the past year. They know stuff goes viral in 5 minutes, too. The lack of sensitivity and mindfulness of the school's current fragile reputation, as well as the lack of cultural sensitivity and respect, is galling.

Way to go, ladies.

I also don't think it makes sense to compare this situation with Cheech and Chong. Not at all the same milieu--although these women may have been auditioning for CollegeHumor.com...
