I never got a flu shot until my daughter was born. I got one the last 3 years. The last 3 years I got the flu. Prior to that, I think I got it once in 10 years.

The office isn't quite as cold today, but instead we got a team of maintenance men using sanders or something... Impossible to concentrate.

this happens every year. there a multiple strands of flu, the vaccine cant protect against all of them. i dont see how people get so worked up about it

My wife works on an NIH contract for flu research. Unlike the previous scares this year is going to be a bad one.

this has nothing to do with the vaccine

What's wrong with it?

I've had random issues with my battery going completley dead over the last 3 months. At first I replaced the battery, and it happened again. They retested the charging system and the battery and said all was good. Dealer then said I needed to get new spark plugs/throttle body cleaning etc etc because it was happening due to extended crank. That was like 450$. Then it happened again this monday. Had it towed back to the dealer, they kept it for two days trying to figure out the issue. They say it's now because something with the drivers side controls are bad and its drawing an intermittent charge from the dome lights which don't go the whole way off thus causing the battery to drain. So 300$ more to fix that.

I know nothing about cars, so I'm just like fix it, and it better be fixed right this time.

I havent had a flew shot since I was a little kid, and I havent gotten sick, outside of a hangover or common cold, prob since I was a kid. My mother is non stop hounding me about a flew shot this year. The other day she called out of the blue to see if I felt okay...even tho she saw me less than 24 hours before that and I was completely fine...because she just saw the flu story on the news. :face: Now she's forced me to jinx myself and bring up the facts that I havent had a flew shot in over a decade and I rarely get sick. Now I'm doomed.

There were a few other things too, but 75% of the cost was labor. I think like 300$ for labor, rest were parts, and the stupid diagnostic fee thing.

We had a department meeting this morning. We have staff located in multiple locations across the world, and we had a video conference with our largest overseas office, with everyone else overseas conferenced in via telephone. All of the audio was coming from the same device. We couldn't hear the presentation of one of our overseas employees, so my technology-challenged boss asked our secretary to call IT to fix the problem.

IT's solution?
Spoiler:
Turn the volume up using the volume keys on the device.

And your company actually pays the IT department to offer those type of solutions. Wow.

As opposed to.....what other solution? I would be more concerned with the fact that his company actually pays the technology-challenged boss to manage employees. :D

Just saying they could do more then offer a solution anyone who isn't employed in IT could offer that's all. Nothing more nothing less.

I got one, but only because I had pneumonia last year. I debated about it a long time, I haven't had a flu shot in years. And I opted against getting the pneumonia vaccine.

Driving to Vegas from SoCal, Baker is a welcoming sight of civilization -- and Alien Jerky store.

Sad to read that the landmark thermometer is up for sale.

just refinanced my truck with PSECU opposed to Huntington bank. I feel like im rich. Knocked a whole year off the payments (well, technically 8 months since I made 4 payments already) and lowered the monthly payment by $20.
