She is not a per unit shopper, ie she doesn't pay attention to what is cheaper per ounce or per lbs or per diaper, etc. She just looks at the cost of what two things are that look close in size. Of course, she gets frustrated with me when I take an extra few seconds to read all the tags for that number or pull out my phone to calculate something. It's a match made in heaven.

Mine is the same way. "but this is only 2 dollars more!"... And you get half as much

It's opposite in my family. When I go shopping, I just go grab the stuff I need, price be damned. (as long as it is close).
My wife will caculate everything down to the penny per unit. While she is thrifty and saves money, to me, it's just not worth my time to extend every shopping trip to save a few bucks.
Maybe we can wife swap for shopping.

Does she also only look at the up front cost vs how much you get? What I mean is my wife will only look at what we paid at the register and not how much we got, so it's all on the up front transaction that she judges by. She doesn't pay attention to the fact that we don't need to buy that item for another 3 months. It's the fact that we paid $8 instead of $5, regardless of the fact that we got 2.5 times what the $5 one costs.

That shows I'm weak and not man enough to go out on my own and do it.
