Did not look distressed or anything, just fell asleep on the couch like he always did in the afternoon, and never woke up. He was only 8, which is too young for a cat to go.

He was a great cat, he'd meet me at the door every day when I went downstairs to take my shower, and sit outside the bathroom till i was done. Then he'd meet me again when I got home. I'll miss him.

I can think of worse ways to go than falling asleep for a nap and just not waking up.

sorry to hear that. I had to put my cat down in november. he was 11... not young, but too young to be put down. we were battling a pretty severe flea infestation, and he either got some sort of parasite from the fleas, or had a bad reaction to some of the otc medications i used on him. The vet couldn't say for sure. so sad. he was a good boy.

Company is laying people off. I was just informed I'm part of "The Core" and continue to show up. Maybe I should ask for a NMC.

As long as you don't have a brother living in Carolina you want to work with, I say go for it.

I think I have a neck meat issue of my own (at least I hope its neck meat) back on monday I strained my neck and for a good while after that on my left side, the back of my head and right above my left eye killed. Finally it died down but even thru the night into tuesday I had a slight headache above my left eye. I actually wouldnt even call it a headache, more like discomfort. It went away, or maybe i didnt even notice it thru the week until I worked out it was come back again. But again, just more discomfort, I didnt have to leave the gym or anything. Well on to today at lunch I was moving some things and exerted myself and all the sudden the really harsh pain in the back of my head and above my eye showed back up. this was more than just discomfort.

Here we are an hour later and its still hanging around. Along with some back pain, centered around my left shoulder blade. Could a pinched nerve in the neck be causing this, or some other type of neck meat issue? I'm not a ferrari, more of a segway, so I cant bounce back from this stuff as well as others.

I'll also expect a "Dude Skates" thread reaching 2766 pages

See a doctor, but I have similar pain due to a pinched nerve. Your pain sounds a lot more severe than mine.

Thanks. I wouldnt even know if I'd call mine severe. Like now I'm pretty good. Shoulder still sore. But i was just concerned because it would go away but reappear when I lifted or did something physical. I was just hoping to get reassurance it might be muscle/nerve related rather than brain related

I'm confused.

But, It is Carls Jr and Hardees that are the same. I don't know about In and Out.

RIP Gibble's Potato Chips

I believe Gibbel's were one of the last potato chip companies to cook their chips in lard.

i was riding home today on the bus, and there was a blind guy using a blind person computer. the whole concept of braille was perplexing one of the less worldly patrons of said public transit.

This guy sat down next to the blind guy and introduced himself politely enough, and the blind guy politely said it was nice to meet him, and so forth... then came the questions...

Q-"what are those funny bumps?"
A-"it's called braille. it's how blind people read"
Q-"why do you use braille? why not just use regular letters that come off the page?"
A-"well, braille is more efficient. plus, I don't know what a "B" looks like"
(at this point, the guy starts gesturing the shape of a "B" with his hands)
Q-"how come you ride the bus? isn't that dangerous?"
A-"well, it's typically not safe for blind people to be driving..."

this blind guy is my new hero.

edit: he is further my hero because he knew more about the road we were driving on and where it lead than the bus driver.

I'm not too concerned. Of the two plus years I've been at this job, I've never been more swamped than I am right now. 75 hours all ready this week and I don't think I'll get dug out for another two weeks.
