A senior administration official told NBC News analyst Roger Cressey that the suspect who was in custody was an Army major with an Arabic-sounding name. The official said the shootings could have been a criminal matter rather than a terrorism-related attack and that there was no intelligence to suggest a plot against Fort Hood.

I am EXTREMELY suspicious...and agree with your assessment. An Army Major is two ranks below a full bird colonel. There is no way in hell that a major and two other soldiers conspired to murder fellow soldiers due to "battle stress". I have a bad, bad feeling that they were impostors...but I am waiting to get more info

Especially when two other suspects were arrested.

mac5155 wrote:That was just Abc that id-ed him.. Could be wrong still I guess but still.. I can't see a major going out and doing something like this but who knows honestly..

shafnutz05 wrote:Yeah....wow. This had nothing to do with "battle stress"....or the fact that he was allegedly about to be deployed. I have a feeling that he was probably radicalized. I am not jumping to conclusions, merely just looking at it rationally. I am really wondering how the other two are going to come into play. Were the three of them acting alone (as their own little radical group) or were they receiving orders from someone else? If the latter is the case, that is a scary breech.

They said he was 40 years old or so. I would be shocked if it was a Sgt. Major...for crying out loud, that is the highest enlisted rank aside from the Sgt. Major of the Army.
