I was out late last night and didn't get up in time for the Pool/ManU game. On the highlights, that PK looked like a garbage call.

The City/Arsenal game was fantastic. Lots of high quality play from both sides.

Just got back from Pipers....... what a BS game the LFC/Man U game was..... LFC was the better team and deserved a better result today.

Henderson on for Sterling? Didn't get that
Jonjo deserved a yellow, not a red.
The Penalty was a horrible call.

As is usually the case, both incidents of note looked far worse at first glance than on slow-mo replay in multiple angles. Shelvey has less to complain about, as a player is just asking to see red whenever he dives in like that.

Liverpool was better but have only themselves to blame after failing to put away their chances.

Van Persie's flying lunge was worse than Shelvey's. He saw yellow. People complain about diving but ManU consistently get rewarded for their dives. Sucks but that's life.

I wish Draftnik hadn't been run off. He could cite all the sins real or imagined where ManU didn't get every call in a game and claim they were often the aggrieved party. He was the best.

Just saying, felt like the thread needed an ode to a fallen soldier. I'd pour one out, but Valencia may see liquid on the pitch and use it as an excuse to dive and no one wants that.

So did Terry get half the punishment because he's an English hero, or did Suarez get double because Evra plays for ManU?

Fun game to watch. I don't know who has shaken their head more so far this year, Giroud after missing chances or me after watching.
Any word on when Szczesny is due back?

This Spurs/ManU game is nuts. It's 3-2 Spurs with 30+ minutes left. I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up something like 5-4 one way or another.

Oh, and Dempsey scored his first goal for Spurs today.

We are starting to get a Liverpool supporters club organized in Pittsburgh....LFC Pittsburgh.

We usually get together at Pipers to watch the matches. We are in the early stages right now, but we want to be recognized by Liverpool as an Official Supporters Group.

Check it out if you want, if not, no big deal

That's about my reaction too. I would also add that I wished I lived closer to the South Side to make it feasible to go down there to watch games on weekend mornings. It's sometimes fun to watch with more serious supporters of the teams playing, even if one is not a serious supporter.

I enjoy watching matches, but the most fun I have ever had watching soccer was during the 2010 World Cup while in a bar with around 50-80 other people. The Algeria game is second to Fleury's save to the most excited I have gotten for a sporting match.

I agree about the Algeria game. I was at a packed bar watching that and it was so awesome when the mood shifted from "Wow, what a downer we're going to be eliminated 'cause we can't beat stinkin' Algeria" to complete euphoria when Donovan scored.
