I once did an interview with an American player who was signed by my hometown team here in Germany. He, too, was drafted by an MLS team, but Europe was always going to be the better option, even if it meant playing for our reserve.

Yeah, the MLS draft is certainly less important than the draft in any other US sports league, but there are still some pretty good players that come out of the draft. The MLS youth academies are still too undeveloped and few in number to catch all of the top prospects, so there are some under-scouted/late-blooming players that go the college route and end up in the draft.

Different angle...

Not defending Hazard at all, but this looks suspicious. There's news of the ballboy boasting that he was going / that he did timewaste, etc.

This is the tweet: https://twitter.com/CHARLIEM0RGAN/statu ... 9700602881

This was before the game, so it is just a crazy coincidence.

And that's a bad angle. I think this one is better...

Have to agree with Joey Barton on this one. The only thing Hazard was guilty of was not kicking him hard enough.

Seriously, the ball boy was being a ***** and hazard was only trying to dislodge the ball. I'm not the biggest Chelsea fan either.

Maybe the FA should look into recruiting the ball boys from tennis. :)

If a Swansea player had done that and Hazard kicked him, he would have faced the same punishment. Charges don't need to be pressed, but he was rightfully sent off.

Maybe so, but the ball boys who intentionally waste time should be fined as well as their clubs. I find it hard to see the outrage in what he did.

The ball boy's job is to get the ball back into play as quickly as possible, so if you decide to behave like a jerk you better be prepared to suffer the cinsequences. Not that they should necessarily include being kicked.

I thought running a guy over from behind and knocking him down was a foul. Shows what I know.

Sturridge seems to be the pretty reliable attack killer that Liverpool has been missing since Carroll left.

Messi with another fantastic game and now has 200 goals career in La Liga. Where is he ranked all time brain trust of LGP?

He's closing in on 1st, but I guess he needs to win at least one WC to challenge Pele and Maradona.

Meh, he's already 1st in my book. But 2nd and 3rd are Cruyff and Best.
