All kidding aside, Real are complete idiots if they sell Özil to make room for Bale. Then again, this is a club that fires its coach after winning the Champions League.

Ozil to arsenal for 50mm euros. Surprise RM were able to get that much out of Arsene given the circumstances with Ozil almost assuredly going somewhere, whether Arsenal or elsewhere. Good business for both sides.

Done according to the Italian reports I'm reading.

Wow. If true, Arsenal just got a whole lot better.

I know you're joking, but I actually think that makes more sense than Oezil for Arsenal. Cazorla and Oezil seem to like to occupy the same areas on the field, and Arsenal could use a bit more bite in central midfield. Of course, I'm not a hardcore Arsenal follower, so others might have a better read on this.

I agree but I think it has everything to do with the fact that Bale will sell more shirts worldwide.

Supposedly Utd were in for him too but we have offered better wages.

Cazorla has played on the left a lot for us. He interchanged with Rosicky a lot during today's game. Cazorla is certainly best through the center but he is good enough to do a job out wide if called upon to do so. He will drift infield a bit but Gibbs is no stranger to getting forward down the left flank.

That's another bizarre twist to the deal, because I don't really see Bale selling much shirts. If it was all about selling shirts - and sadly it sort of often is with Real - they should've spend the money on Neymar. Most casual soccer fans I know probably don't even know who Gareth Bale is.

Well I'm coming at it from a biased point of view bc all the coverage I get is englocentric (yes I know he's Welsh). The English Press has been pumping him up for the past two seasons.

I wondered if Daniel Taylor was loyal to the man or the throne. Today's article makes it clear that he's still Lord Ferg's journalist and Moyes has some work to do to gain his services.

So Kaka on a free transfer and only a two year deal at 4mm Euro per is fantastic business. I have a good feeling about this.

Neymar chose Barca over RM.

Gareth Bale is really, really good.

Wenger you absolute beauty. Özil official.

And yes Ian Holloway is incredible. Do yourself a favor and look up some of his quotes.

Love it, though typical Everton, even when they have a great deadline, more money comes in than goes out.

This season definitely has the potential to be pretty exciting because of what seems to be (from the pov of a fairly casual fan) a narrowing of the parity gap among the top 7 teams from last year.

I bet Wayne Rooney feels (to borrow a tired meme) vindicated. United was never really close to strengthening their areas of need, despite their transparently unrealistic overtures.

Having seen plenty of Ozil, more often than not I'm left wondering why people fawn all over him. He plays a tremendous pass every now and then, but he neither scores nor defends with any regularity. He's always been much better for his country IMO.

It's funny to see where Ozil and Fellaini landed, because I think both players would have been more valuable to his team had they switched destinations.
