There was a penalty call made in the Liverpool/Crystal Palace game that I'm completely okay with. Ref didn't see it, but assistant saw it & called for a penalty. It looked to be just outside of the box (Sterling fell into the penalty box), but even with this mistake, I'm happy that the assistant had the confidence to call a penalty like that.

Also, Crystal Palace look completely & utterly outmatched in this game.

Palace are already down in my mind, they are rubbish.

Depending on who Sunderland appoint, I think they could survive. There is enough talent there and a new manager may feel like a breath of fresh air after Di Canio. They may feel like the shackles are off.

I have a feeling this could be the last 45 minutes for David Moyes as United manager.

This is clearly headed towards a Ferguson-White Knight savior scenario. Can Moyes, have SAF show up and all he has to do is coach this last season for an 8 figure number and get them a top 4, legend further burnished.

What I hate about this version of Bayern is that they are not easy to hate.

Man, I can't believe these guys are calling that a good non-call on that tackle in the box on Wilshere. I guess I have to see it again but looked like he nearly broke Wilshere's leg before getting the ball. Ballsy tackle either way.

I give a lot credit to the Baggies they gave Arsenal all we could handle and a draw was a fair result. They will be an interesting team to watch in the future. They appear to have some decent talent and will be a handful for anybody. Mulumbu and Yacob is a formidable midfield partnership.

I agree that was definitely a peno. You can get the ball and still commit a foul which is what I believe occurred. Plus, tackles from behind are supposed to be yellows. So at the very least it is a yellow for a tackle from behind. Not too mention it is a scissor tackle. In summation, stonewall peno.

Tbh, that looks like a good tackle to me, not from behind, but I'm still shocked Mason let it go.

If Wilshere wasn't a diving, smoking, cry-baby, he'd have gotten that call.

Upon further review, he gets his leg first, so I retract from my earlier statement.

That looks like he went through Wilshere to get to the ball. He got it first but still I've seen that given.

I definitely would not want to have to make that call in real time.

It's a shame there's no viable technology to allow an official to look at a close play and make a decision within 30 seconds.

Only when they need them. They play Liverpool in a few weeks, so Suarez will get maimed in the box and Howard Webb will miss it somehow.
