Every time I watch Sunderland, part of me wonders why they are in the bottom 3 with the players they have. Ki Sung Yeung and Adam Johnson, for instance, would be quality players on most of the mid-tier teams, and their roster on paper looks better than Norwich, West Brom, etc.

Then I remember Wes Brown & John O'Shea are the defenders. Even still, I'm somewhat confused by this team.

A win is a win, I'll take it, but it wasn't the prettiest.

Adam Johnson has the talent but is very inconsistent.

Ki is on loan from Swansea which is really weird. They certainly could use him.

Remember when Chelsea first bought Branislav Ivanovic, Jose didn't rate him and put him in the reserves. Good times.

Edit: Whoops, it was Avram Grant who put him in the reserves, that probably explains it.

Heard on the radio this morning that the Riverhounds ownership group declared bankruptcy. The report said it wouldn't affect the upcoming season, but this seems to at the very least put a serious damper on the Riverhounds to MLS talk. I really thought they were doing well in the new stadium and were on their way to bigger and better things.

Great results for Liverpool today, as long as they take care of their own business

If things keep going this way, that Liverpool v. City game in a couple weeks is going to be huge.

On the other side, this game makes me think (again) about how badly Spurs have bungled their chances to re-make their roster with the loot from the Modric and Bale transfers. They had two world class players whom they sold for big sums, and they've turned that into a whole bunch of meh players. The only player who seems to have any sort of offensive spark is Eriksen.

I was messing around with the predictor game and got an interesting ending to the season. If LFC draw against Chelsea and City, and City draw Everton plus 1 more team, and they each win the rest of their games, we will have a 3 way tie for the title.

Now I understand that this means zero, but if it came down to that scenario, imagine how exciting the last day would be.

He said he is definitely moving abroad this summer. I wonder where he goes for a year before going to Barca.

Job done today PSG, now don't screw up the second leg. Only down side is that Zlatan picked up an injury.

Great goal by Pastore; horrible defending by Chelsea as well as pretty bleh goaltending by Cech.

It's good to be City this year. Linesmen must fear being vaporized if they don't give City a call.

And now Bayern's watch has ended. Well, not exactly since they won the Bundesliga and can still win the Champions League but I wanted to make a GOT reference.

In other words, Bayern's 53 game unbeaten streak in the league ended today.

I just can't get into MLS (fans that are just try too hard imo) but this Seattle/Portland is a boatload of fun.

And Gooner, nervous about your trip to Goodison tomorrow??

In a word...yes. This team is as equally capable of turning Everton over as it is shipping 4 goals and getting tonked.
