Theres a twitter account for the LA Kings mascot "Bailey." CM Punk was at the Blackhawks game and they were just taking jabs at each other. If I went back and read them its prob wont be as funny as I thought at the time, but I got a chuckle seeing Punk trash talking a "mascot" throughout the game.

And Punk just said he wanted to punch Bailey in the d.

The more i think about it, the more convinced this is an angle. Chikara has always been about continuity porn and rewarding fans for following closely and playing along. They have been building to this for more than 2 years. I think if they were actually going to fold, they would have been up front about it and gave a proper send off.

They will go off the grid for a while, existing in the form of the "wrestling is..." promotions, and at the end of every year, they do a whole show based around one 10 on 10 elimination tag match called "The Torneo Cibernetico". You bring back 10 guys who are all the "wrestling is..." Champs, and have them take on those that stayed loyal to the evil ownership group,.and have it somehow end with all the divergent time lines being resolved.

It's an angle... A really ballsy angle, but an angle.

I'm semi-interested in it. I've never really watched much of Chikara, but I'm open to anything wrestling wise.

Going through Raw now. Between last Friday's Smackdown and tonight's performance, Daniel Bryan is once again the best thing going in WWE.

Raw was actually decent tonight. They brought their "A" game b/c of the sports competition.

Yup it was a good show. It took me a decent amount of time to watch which means I didn't fast forward through as many segments as usual.

This is basically playing out like an alternate reality game. ok... Chikara was bought by a subdivision of a company called the Titor Conglomerate, at least in universe. A picture was leaked on twitter that linked TTC to Elohim City, OK. That is a religious compound with ties to neo-nazi groups, and the Oklahoma City Bomber. Not sure what the significance is, but there appears to be something there.

As far as the roster, they have all been hitting the net, aggressively seeking bookings, and very much claiming to not have any idea what is going on.

Now the interesting thing about the cancellations is they never announced times or venues, or sold tickets, and most of the dates already had a "wrestling is..." show scheduled the same night. So it seems like that was the plan all along.

It's too much stuff to process right now.

Daniel Bryan is awesome right now. Well he has always been awesome, but I really hope they go full on with him now. Get him out of the stupid comedy tag team. He's big time over right now and putting on great matches(he always does). Now is the time to capitalize. I doubt WWE will though.

Daniel Bryan is just really consistently good. And he can pretty much work any style of match. I think they need to just have him go full on psycho heel. Have him turn on Kane,.and just destroy him in their match. Like have it so bad that it ends in ref stoppage from Bryan just kicking the crap out of his head. That'll go a long way to establish him as a credible heel

Bryan could be the next Stone Cold if they did it right. Dude could be very very popular...Speaking of Stone Cold I remember when wrestling was in its prime and there were angles like the Chikara wrestling one all of the time.

ok. i will. I might have to go into a good bit of back story at some point, as the seeds for this angle were planted like 4 or 5 years ago. I'll try to keep it as basic as i can when talking about the angle itself.

I think he'd be much better off as a face right now. The fans are behind him they want to be behind him. I think having him to mega heel would be a bad move. Plus I think if he destroys Kane like you say above he will end up getting cheered bigtime anyways.

Ok. Interesting stuff from chikara... Gotta go back a few years now.

Chikara used to have a working deal with Kaiju Big Battel, which is like wrestling with guys dressed like giant space monsters stomping on tiny buildings. The top heel in KBB is Dr Cube, a mad scientist who has a cube for a head.

Anyway, there was a whole story line involving Dr Cube, and a magical artifact called the Eye of Tyr, which let it's owner control people's minds. Through a series of events, this led to the invasion of chikara by the Bruderschaft des Kreuzes, a group led by Ares and Claudio Castagnoli(Antonio Cesaro) who wanted to get the Eye of Tyr back.
So the BDK ran roughshod over chikara for 2 years, and it ended with chikara winning back the eye of tyr and destroying it.
At last year's final show, an epilogue was shown with what appeared to be workers salvaging the eye's fragments.

Today, it was posted on the Kaiju Big Battel site that they had the eye of tyr.

So the big question now is what role this has in the stuff that happened over the weekend. Is Dr Cube involved?

Kind of odd for this plot to be revisited if it didn't mean something.

I haven't even mentioned the guy who got punched so hard he got sent forward in time. There are AT LEAST 2 versions of this guy running around.

I'll put it this way... The suspension of disbelief is important

edit: this is what makes what happened sunday all the more jarring. there is very much a sense of playfulness with this company, and for a show to suddenly end like that, actual violence to happen, and the wrestlers start pandering for bookings because they don't have jobs... it feels much realer than anything they've done before. maybe not the setup, but the aftermath for sure.

Watched Raw last night. Pretty good show. I don't like Curtis Axel much but I did get excited when he setup for the Perfect Plex onto the chair, sadly he didn't get to pull it off.

I watched the footage of the last match/end of the show shut down from Chikara. It sounds a lot cooler than it was. Or maybe I just have no attachment to the company. Also, I don't understand how anyone could think this is a shoot. Now, the question of whether or not the company shuts down is different, but the end of this show was clearly worked.

It'sthe aftermath, like the canceling the events, and releasing their roster that have the question marks
