Dunlap is a regular lurker here at LGP.

Is Dunlop a low end sporting goods manufacturer. When I see Dunlap's name i think of that....and it just makes sense to me. Also reminds me of Dunhams...either way, Dunlap is the low end, off brand product for sports talk radio.

I didn't think there was anything wrong with my original post saying that Dunlap was stirring the pot for the sake of ratings, but I can understand why the second post may have been whacked. Even if it was written as an opinion, I can see how it might be considered breaking board rules.

sorry 'bout that. :(

Oh well, I was the first poster that brought it up, but now it's a huge story on the Fan and will probably blow up nationally. Apologies, evidently.

So Madden today was talking about John Scott's vicious hit on Loui Ericksson and brought up Matt Cooke wanting to talk to Patrick Kaleta. Madden went off on Cooke, saying how much of a joke he is because of what he did to Marc Savard and saying he was a disgrace to the team and should have his name scratched off of the Stanley Cup.

Wow.

Yet Madden's had the complete opposite opinion of Cooke in the not too distant past.

He started going on long rants about Cooke during the playoffs last year, which was ironic considering he was consistently one of the Penguins best players. He's a dolt that will say anything to get a reaction. Hopefully he has Center Ice so he can watch his man crush Ryan Whitney suck at hockey in South Beach.

Very true. Regardless of that horrible opinion that he spewed I still like Matt Cooke. Like you I thought he was constantly one of our best players because of his offense, his work ethic and because he played with a edge while he was here. I never cared for what he did to Savard, McDonough etc.but over the years he did do a good job of trying to reform himself and regardless of his past he's far from a disgrace who should get his name scratched from the Cup. Just sounds like an opinion from a man who has a ax to grind with Cooke.

Pretty much any time MM says something derogatory about a "former player" or tells a derogatory story about a "former Penguin", you can bet it's Matt Cooke he is talking about.

I actually remember MM saying he missed the old Cooke because it brought an element of fear

Brutal segment on Vinnie and Cook today (stunning, I know)- went something like this:

Vinnie:"Man, I hope the Bruins don't celebrate in our faces if the Red Sox win the world series tonight?"
Cook: "They wouldn't celebrate on the ice"
Vinnie: "I don't mean on the ice, just in Pittsburgh."
Cook: "What are you talking about? When the baseball game ends they will probably be on the bus to the airport or the plane to Boston or wherever their next game is. Most of them probably don't even care if the Red Sox win."
Vinnie: "Wow, this week has just flown by."
Cook: "It's Wednesday, the week is still young."
Vinnie: "We've had some Hall of Fame Guests this week"
Cook: "The hall of famers were last week."
Vinnie: "We'll be back to close the show out after this....."

The X Morning Show is so so so bad. I think its the worst, most aggressively annoying show on the radio in this town. I only switch to between commercials on other stations, but the level of smugness and condescension on that show is out of control. Benz has always been like this though it seems to have gotten worse recently, and his mongoloid sidekick is at new levels of obnoxious behavior. Every single person on Earth is a contemptible fool according to these two geniuses.

Madden is hilariously starting to turn on Ben after basically giving him the Sid/Mario God treatment for years. The whole Ben Roethlisberger Show on 93.7 has really irritated him (I also assume it means Ben can't go on any station other than 93.7). By this time next year, Madden will be trying to run him out of town.

Out of the stations which are included in the monthly Nielsen Audio ratings, KDKA-FM (93.7) is listed at the top with an 8.4. WDSY (107.9) is knocked the second place with WDVE (102.5) in third. No doubt The Fan’s spike in the ratings is due to the successful season for the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Interview they did with him last year where he talked about growing up on a potato farm and since he ain't from around these parts, it sounded funny.
