.279 with 12 hits in 14 games is a disappointment?

Not sports related, but Randy Bauman gets all my nerves when Billy Gardelle (sp?) comes on the air, it's like he just laps up everything and is overly in love with him.

Yeah, the Gardell segment has become pretty un-listenable (much like the rest of the morning show anymore). It wasn't funny the first time he said BUUUUUUUUUUCS, nor is it funny the 200th time.

We get that you lived in Pittsburgh till you were like 8 Billy, and that made you grounded, but you don't need to remind us of that each time you are on the show.

And speaking of things they remind us of, I have no idea who Joey O'Connell from Penn Hills is, but they sure think that I should.

The only guy I really like anymore on the morning show is Bill Crawford.

Crawford's stories about his kids tend to be pretty funny.

Just Cook today. Opens with talking about Burnett tweeting about empty seats at PNC Park. People call in to talk about it. Cook says "I'm not talking about empty seats, I'm talking about the crowd being dead last night."

Uh.... Burnett didn't say the crowd was dead. He said there were a lot of empty seats. When you open with what he actually said, people are going to call in thinking that's what you want to talk about.

John Steigerward, do you have to enable your ability to put a question by first, prefacing it? ...nearly always :(
Or, having first put the question, rather than allow a response, are you aware that you immediately postface (nearly always :( ) while the interviewee waits to respond? Sometimes we can feel the latter's pain. :D

Ask Laird or Junker to shoot you straight on this...if they haven't already.

Getting sick of all of these club remixes behind commercials for the Pirates/Steelers etc. on The Fan. Playing that Flo-Rida song behind a Pirates playoff series ad, REALLY? A technofied version of "Start Me Up" when the Steelers season was getting ready to begin? Who makes this garbage and why is it allowed to be on the air? Makes 8 minutes of commercials even more annoying. The station has really gone downhill in the past couple of years.

Let's be honest. They didn't start that high to begin with.

I'm shocked half of the people there still have jobs.

Vinney: What do you think, the Bucs on a road to a dynasty?

Cook: (flabergasted) THEY HAVEN"T EVEN PLAYED ONE PLAYOFF GAME YET AND YOU'RE TALKING DYNASTY!!!!!!!!

Vinney: Well, you never know.

I love these guys.

Wow, yeah, "dynasty" is not an apt word for this Pirates team.

I think a 3-5 competitive window with much shorter rebuilding sequences is a far cry from "dynasty".

If they can utlize assets like the Rays do and continue developing their own talent (they've done that better than tampa), they can have a longer run.

Vinnie: (asks stupid question)

Cook: Why do you ask me these stupid questions?

Vinnie: Because I have respect for you and want to know your answer.

Cook: You have zero respect for me.

Vinnie: No. I have as much respect for you as you have for me.

Cook: Exactly, zero.

HAHAHAHAH.
