does that mean Crosby was a liability in the field?

Nah, he didn't become one of those until he learned the "no look drop pass" and "board to board cross pass" moves.

The Nats waived DeJesus right after claiming him.

Woah...Puig is way more out of control than Crosby ever was. Crosby just whined to the refs a lot as players were taking plenty of liberties with him. Let's please not buy into the narrative that's come out of the Boston/Philly fan base.

When I read about him saying that, I laughed so hard. That is hilarious.

Zack Wheeler fell apart in his last inning, but that kid can pitch.

I'm just looking back at Ichiro Suzuki's career, and I guess I never realized just how good of a hitter's hitter he was. The amount of hits he produced in the first 10 years of his MLB career is insanity.

I wonder what his hit totals would have been had he started playing in MLB right off the bat? I'm wondering if he would have started playing at such a young age, with American baseball's development system tending to be a little longer. Regardless, I wasn't aware of pure of a hitter he was, easily the best since Pete Rose. He could have definitely broken Rose's record had he played a full MLB career (and played into his early to mid 40s, which he could easily do because he still hits for contact).

Jason Heyward got hit in the face last night and fractured his jaw. This doesn't really matter as the Braves can afford to just put people on the dl a few weeks at a time, as seen with Uggla getting lasik surgery in the middle of the season a few days ago. Its actually a fun slap in the face to the rest of the division.

Also headed to Dr. Andrews

Why does every team need to give Mariano Rivera some giant present when they play him? It was cute at first but now it's annoying to hear about it every week. He's not the first great player/class act in baseball.

Because teams do that to well-known guys who are retiring. Teams did that for Chipper Jones as well.

Watching the Japan-Mexico LLWS game, one sees the degree to which the Japanese kids are coached to be quick-thinking, situationally smart, and technique-oriented. Japan's escape out of a bases-loaded, no-outs jam in the 2nd (?) inning was impressive.

Only 4 a year is surprising to me. I would have thought there was more turnover.
