Ive seen rafael furcal do it among a few others. Nothing wring with it. Its harder to connect, but if you do its a great bunt and you have an extra step towards first.

it just seems like there is so much mental physics you'd have to do to get that to work just right, and when it doesn't work it looks really, really silly.

Considering that 42 is already retired by the Yankees in honor of Jackie Robinson, how will they handle Rivera's number retirement? Will 42 be retired twice?

They'll just put 1764 up there...

Spoiler:
42 squared.

The Giants give Hunter Pence a 5 year, $90M extension. Not sure why.

I assume so. Yankee number 42 retired.

Because he is the best RH power option out there and has missed 24 games in six years

Wow..the most unlikely of no hitters (and the most bizarre of endings)

He's also entering the decline phase of his career and isn't really that good. Will he be worth 18M in 2018?

I would not want to face the Indians right now.

Cleveland is 55-18 against teams under .500 and 36-52 against teams over .500. They won 5 of their last 7 series. The 5 series they won were against the White Sox twice, the Twins, the Mets and the Astros. The two series they lost were against KC. I think you can see the problem they may have here in a few days.

Only something like that could take me away from watching football today. And if the Fish had come up empty in the 9th, Alvarez was going back out there for the 10th inning. It's the end of the season, he has all offseason to rest, plus he only had thrown 96 pitches. Tim Kurkjian likes to say that he loves baseball because you never know what silly thing might happen in a game. This probably made his head spin off his shoulders.

I think another team (maybe it was the Marlins again) has done that before with no hitter tickets.

I'd like to see Pittsburgh vs. Dodgers and Tampa vs. the Tigers in the LCS. Then Pirates agains the Tigers in the WS.

Personally, a Pirates Indians WS would be way sweet.

Cleveland is ruining the chances of a Pirates-Indians World Series by putting on a Pirates-esque performance with runners on base. On the plus side, Bud Selig's Nightmare Scenario (Pirates-Rays) is still alive.

Thanks for the stat breakdown on the Injuns. Without that, I probably don't make a few bucks on the Rays tonite. I owe you a virtual beer.
