The Tigers are not a good defensive team. At some point, that sort of thing will come back to bite you. It bit them hard last night.

The Tigers took a wrong turn at after Albuquerque...

There is a price tag on things like this and unfortunatly the Pirates will probably never have that luxury unless that player is drafted and performing at a high level out of the gate.

If Dusty weren't a terrible manager the Cubs win that game and Bartman's forgotten about.

2 things I forgot about that Cubs/Marlins series when I was looking up the Bartman game:

1) In game 5 with his team down 3-1 in the series 23 year-old Josh Beckett had a complete game 2-hitter with 11K. That would be his second best start of the postseason.

2) The Cubs had a 5-3 lead in Game 7 after chasing Brad Penny. Kerry Wood wasn't his sharpest but Dusty left him in during the 5th and by the time the inning was over the Cubs were trailing.

Cubs fans who blame Bartman get it all wrong, but they're Cubs fans so we're used to them being completely wrong. Even the ones who blame Alex Gonzalez (who booted a GIDP in Game 6) are only partially right.

I would love him on the Pirates. Vin Scully said it best- he's a wild horse. I think I hate the overreaction to everything Puig does more than I care at all about Puig.

The comparison to Antonio Brown is pretty apt. A comparison to Bryce Harper would be better though.

Justin Verlander so far this postseason: 23 innings, 0.39 ERA, .57 WHIP, 10 hits, 31 K, 3 walks. But the Tigers are 1-2 when he starts so he must suck.
