kenny the kangaroo is a fan of billy butler in the sense that much like kenny the kangaroo, billy butler can hit a baseball but is otherwise a useless human being. thankfully though, this gentleman does not share the same build as billy butler.

Having Billy Butler in the field makes me very uncomfortable. I like his bat but defensively you'd probably be better off if the pitcher had to sprint over to first to catch every infield throw.

Re-sign Sanchez and have him be a defensive replacement, LHP platoon. Given his lack of glove it has to bring the asking price down.

I'd hope it would bring the cost down but he's the Royals best hitter so I can't see them letting him go for a cost that I'd find palatable.

As nice as his offense would be I just wonder how much of it he'd give back in the field. Especially to a team that's so focused on pitching and defense. I don't think he'd give all his value back on defense but when you factor in the cost of acquiring him would that slight bump be worth it in the end? Chances are it wouldn't, I'd think the Royals are going to focus on winning next season and their best chance to do so would be with Butler unless someone offers something fairly stupid.

I just have to tip my cap to Michael Wacha. What incredible composure and talent from such a young pitcher

You have powers. Why couldn't you get them to work when he pitched against the Pirates?

I generally root against the AL (they don't baseball), but rooting against the Sox is especially fun.

I hate the Cardinals, but I respect the franchise (not their fans). However, I hate the fact that Boston teams will use the stupid "BOSTON STRONG" mantra for the next 250 years far, far more.

Butler would be a great fit for the bucs... i'll take the hit at 1B provided we bring in a backup who is solid defensively. Signed in 2014 for 8 million, 12.5m option for 2015. After which a QO would land us a 1st round pick if he signed elsewhere. This is the type of contract situation we would want if we went after a guy out of his arbitration years - somebody that lands you a pick.

Career OBP of .364 and OPS of .823. Platoon splits are negligible. Great RISP stats. RBI machine. Good strikeout ratio. Would fit in great in the 5 spot.

Butler is a righty - no platoon with Gaby to whoever suggested that.

I think I can handle watching the milkbag play 1st if it pays dividends at the plate.

Gahh the one thing i left off my post. We could have a player on the team named country breakfast.

Although we would run the risk of Pedro eating him.

Clearly the right call. There was no reason to throw to third there.
