As a dynasty owner that took Profar 2 years ago in the minor league draft, I approve this trade.

You're really going to approve of it when they still get Cano. :scared:

Why not? Fielder has been god awful in the playoffs. He has not lived up to the contract he signed. This ultimately came down to a Scherzer vs Fielder since they cant afford both. I think they made the right move.

I can't believe that would actually happen. Money would be better spent on McCann or an outfielder.

I agree. They should get Cruz back or replace him or bring in a catcher.

Beltre, Andrus, Profar, Fielder isn't an infield that needs work (on paper anyhow).

He might be the worst defensive player in the league at the least-taxing position. Conversely, Detroit's infield defense just got a lot better.

Statistically, yes he's the worse. Detroit said they intend to play him at first though.

A whole lot better. Better at 1B, 3B and a full year of Iglesias.

The Cardinals and Angels have reportedly struck a deal that will send outfielder Peter Bourjos to St. Louis and David Freese to Anaheim.

I cant see their hitting being any better than last season. Beltran was such an important cog.

Agreed there will be a drop off. But with Adams at first and Craig in RF it's still gonna be a heck of a lineup

nah. its just something about that effing organization where all their moves work out.

lose pujols? sign old man beltran, and beltran out produced pujols. allen craig gets hurt? No worries, fat adams will appear out of phillipsburg pa and into the middle of the lineup. Need good pitching? Thats fine, the cardinals have so many young arms they dont know what to do with them.

Brian McCann to the Yankees- 5 years, 85 million. Wonder if he'll block Ortiz after he stares down a homer.

The article i read said something to the effect of "the yankees signed one of the top free agents. You will always remember where you were when it happened."

So great.

This will end like many recent Yankee deals. Good for the first half of the deal, bad for the second as he competes with other aging players for 1b and dh time.
