I think they should lock Bonds in a gym and make him work out and just pump roods into him for like 2 months and then make him take a swing at Ken Gurnick's teeth.

Probably, I'll just say....those Braves teams will have a lot more hall of famers than WS titles.

Pretty sure any team with sustained success would be in that situation.

Agree with this. The 70's Steelers have way more than 4 Hall of Famers. Of course, Atlanta only needs two HOF's to beat their championship count.

:scared:

Also, they're already guaranteed of that with 2/3 of the trio of managers going in. :pop:

Of course Torre was before their streak.

90's Yankees will probably have just 2 HOFers who made significant contributions - Rivera and Jeter. Could count Clemens too, I guess, but he won't make it in.

Uh...Mussina?

Mattingly is on ballots is he not?

I almost used them as the most extreme example to support my argument but decided it was such an obvious one that I wouldn't need to support it.

Pettitte will make it eventually. I wouldn't vote for Bernie Williams but I wouldn't be stunned or upset if he hung around on the ballot long enough to make it in.

Mattingly wasn't a member of those teams, but isn't hof. I don't think Pettitte is either. Maybe posada. Not Bernie. Mussina wasn't on those teams.

Mattingly was a Yankee well into the 90s. Mussina was in the early 2000s. Pettite overlapped with both of them. If you want to cherry pick the world series teams, thats fine, but thats also irrelevant to what I brought up.

Maddux, Glavine and Frank Thomas are your 2014 HoF class.

Shockingly, Matt Morris did not garner a single vote.

Surprised that there were 3 first ballot guys. Still not convinced that Frank Thomas and Glavine should be on this list.

Biggio missed by 2 tenths of a percent. Wow. And how do 16 people not vote for Maddux?? What the eff else did you want that man to do? Writers on their pedestal are annoying.

There's a reasonable case for pre-rhoids Bonds to make it to the Hall. He doesn't deserve anyone to be that nice, however.

so happy for Maddux and Glavine. I see Glavine on a regular basis as he coaches his kid's hockey team at the local rink. couldn't have happened to a nicer guy!

The relevant part is I don't think any of them are hofers.

You don't think Mussina is a hall of famed? If he's not in within 3 years, including not getting in this year, i'd be shocked.

The guy I posted about yesterday said he would not vote for anyone that played in the steroids era. I'm guessing there were a few people like that.

My first impression of Mussina is that he was a very, very good pitcher. Never really outstanding. I'd need to think on it a little more… does a long, fairly consistent, very, very good career take a pitcher to the Hall? I guess I waiver on that.

I hate that guy. How does he even define the steroid era? Is it still going on?

Well he also said that he would put morris in but not maddux. They overlapped by almost a decade i think.

EDIT: Not a decade. Only 8 years.
