miguel cabrera gettin PAID

10 year, 292M

Based on a career average of 607 at-bats per season and an average of $30 million annually, Cabrera would earn $49,423 per at-bat.

Dudes an animal. Most consistent/best hitter there is. But this is his 12th year... They're gonna regret this in like, 3 years.

Unless the Tigers know something we don't know about future PED availability, this will be a disaster in three years. But, one more immovable contract clogging a big spender. As long as MLB maintains the current player control rules for organization guys, what these mega spenders does really doesn't impact the pirates. I guess it'll boost potential arbitration rulings, but not by much, i think those are based on prior arb rulings.

Why can't the Cardinals be stupid like the Tigers? Why are the Pirates stuck in a division with a team that makes smart decisions and can't be in a division full of idiots?

At least the reds and brewers have sabotaged their long run competitive sustainability.

Hanley just inexplicably cut off a throw going to third that i think would have resulted in a putout...nothing was gained by it as the other runner was sliding into second as he cut it off. This team is destined to be one of those WS contenders talentwise that ends up doing nothing.

Couldn't agree more. They have Greinke, Crawford, Beckett, Hanley & Kemp who all seem like the Omar Epps version of Willie Hayes Mayes and Puig a young showboat that all the veterans rally around to hate on for being too non-veteran and enthusiastic.

Braves are doing a challenge on an out at first right now. They are definitely correct. Will update momentarily.

Phillies were up 6-0, then down 6-7, now back up 10-8 in the 6th.

This after batting somehting like .173 for the pre-season with the worst record.

EDIT: 13-8 in the 6th.

That's hilarious, because I heard a conversation in passing where some dude decked out in Yankee gear was like "Yeah, we play the Astros. Chalk that one up, pretty much an automatic win".
