I remember last year the 'stros murdered Texas in the first game of the year like 10-3 and then lost the next 161 games or something like that

As did Kimbrel. 2 IP 2 SV 0.00 WHIP 0.00 ERA 4k. Today actually was pretty horrible for him: 1 k and he threw 15 pitches.

Also...Aaron harang carried a no hitter into the 7th. lulz

Took Kimbrel in my money league...so I'm a fan of that. I also have three brewers on my starting roster, thus not happy with the Harang dominance. They should lower the mounds again or something, too few runs.

I was thinking they should raise the mounds again, but baseball is getting back to where it should be now that the steroids seem to be gone.

What's wrong with running on 0-2? Something slow and probably in the dirt

Whats wrong with it? The pitcher having multiple pitches to waste. The pitchout obviously. Its not exactly surprising that they pitched out. Unless it was on the first pitch, i would never steal with a no ball count.

Wtf. Adam laroche on first zimmerman hits the ball to the LF wall. Here is the series of events leading to a play at the plate.
1. Upton gets and throws ball.
2. Laroche gets to third and is waved
3. Simmons relays the throw.

What do you think happened?

Lol...so the ball got hit to left and went under the wall padding...still visible from an infielf camera but apparently J Upton was unable to see it. He put his hands up and ian Desmond kept running. Under review now. I think ts an Umpire review so this doesnt apply to complaining about hallenges, but its been 7 minutes.

They just sent him back to second. Part of me wanted it to stand as a home run just for all the scared that would have happened. It was deemed to have been lodged under the padding.

HAHAHAHA desmond tried to steal third with no outs and same thing happened as with harper...stopped when he realized he was out and got tagged out in the rundown. Nats fans are not going to be happy.

Also, Jaleel White is at the game.

Only a loser team like the Braves would rely on a "stuck" ball to win a game.

The completely "meh" response by the baseball media and officials to Pineda clearly cheating (I don't care how many people do it) is pretty indicative of the sport at large. You wonder how steroids lasted so many years? This may be a much more minor example, but the completely ambivalent attitude people have about it explains a lot.

1) The Red Sox are the last team on earth that should call out the Yanks for cheating pitchers given that they employ Clay Buchholz;

2) Calling out a pitcher for foreign substances is like calling out a player for using an illegally curved stick- if you do it, you better make sure your house is in order or else it will come back at you, and it better be done at an important time.

Also, hitters apparently don't mind because it's for control. They don't really want a guy throwing 95 and not having a good idea of where it's going.

I'm not sure which reaction I like most. It's definitely down to the lady in the bottom right and the dude wearing the white jersey.
