Best places in New York City to Propose

I know this could've gone in the dumbest things thread, but I've been debating about it for some time and me and the longtime gf are taking our first trip to the big apple. Well, I'm starting to think that if I do it soon, it will be in NYC, but since I've never been there, I'm not really sure of some things. I originally wanted to do it at the Statue of Liberty, but that looks crowded and cramped, so I was thinking at one of the observation decks (86th or 102nd) at the Empire State Building, but the 102nd looks closed in.

Anyone here been to NYC a lot or have any suggestions?

I can get you onto the roof of the Astoria Power Plant if you want, great view of Hell Gate and the Triborough Bridge.

Seriously, when I was there I was alone and my wife wouldn't come up to spend time with me, so I wasn't doing anything really romantic. Top of the Rock probably gets you the best view. Obviously you can't see the ESB from the ESB, which is the only drawback.

Not a place to propose but I recommend going to Ellis Island when you're there. And the transit museum. Seriously.
