Well no, whipped cream would not constitute a cream pie. I am talking like banana cream, coconut cream (which I don't like). Lemon meringue might count, since the meringue is kind of creamy.

lemon meringue is awesome. i don't have any idea about these banana or cocunut cream pies though.

You can make them with booze too. My mother created a peach-schnapps cream pie recipe, which I've also made on several occasions. Absolutely kicks ass. She puts a meringue on top, but I usually cover the top with a spiral design of thin-sliced peach wedges.

sorry shafty... i'll go back to talking about cream pies... but graham cracker crust is best on cream pies (at least for me)
