when i actually buy my own house, it'll be a farm cut tree every year, but while i'm renting, best thing is for a fake one (probably a lot of people here are along the same lines)

We swing both ways. We have an artificial, but often go with a real (pre-cut) tree. This year we have a cat, so we went artificial. But, I'm so sick of putting lights on trees that I went out and got a sweet pre-lit tree -- it was up and lit within 15 minutes!

I prefer live trees, but my allergies don't. So artificial for me. And this year, a pre-lit artificial tree.

never done one for myself, but my family used to go pick from hanging ones...a few times we cut one down. real trees are 10x better. i miss them.

I would trust 1 cat with a big tree, but not 2 cats. I have a small tree with lights mostly; love the twinkling lights the best, on a table. My sisters' will let me throw tinsel on their huge trees.

At work, I have the new Charlie Brown tree , that is popular this year.

ours is fake. but we have 3 that we put up, so that would be a buttload of money on trees. but we put the lights on them. my daddy's like chevy chase and puts WAYY too many lights on everything. when we were little, it would take him HOURS to put the lights on. and then we'd have to put ornaments on the next day.

I will NEVER do a fake tree. I don't mind the mess and watering involved with a real tree. If we ever own a decent amount of land we might start digging, decorating and re-planting.

Got a fake tree now although it's 10'(my wife wants to get an 8 footer). We always went out and cut a real tree when our kids were growing up.
