I saw the same amount of qualifying that I did of the Shootout last night - nothing. We were too busy watching Walking Dead season 2 and the Pens game, respectively. That said, the pole is a big deal. First time, at least by my twitter feed, a woman has qualified better than 9th at the cup level anywhere. Lot of former DEI guys on that team. Just very funny that Harvick joked about her winning the pole in VL last night.

What was it like? I only caught the last 12 laps. It seemed like everyone was racing the entire time, though, which is a welcome change for plate races.

media tour week gives us Danica coming out as being with Stenhouse, 5 years her junior. Which sounds almost as disturbing as her prior marriage, where he was 13 years older than her.

What is disturbing about a 30-year old woman dating a 25-year old man? My wife is six years older than me.

As long as both people are out of college, age differences of under 15 years are completely unremarkable to me. And 15+ is remarkable, but unproblematic .

Earnhardt is 10 years gone* today. Watched Speed's "The Day" covering the events of that day this afternoon - damn a flood of emotions. Went back to watching the 2008 ECF game 5 after. Amazing how Laraque skated in the playoffs (and appeared to fit in) but Godard never dressed...

150 lap (60 mile) NWAAS late model feature on the Daytona short track live on SPEED right now. National series drivers are ineligible, so star of the race is Kyle Larson. Mods & K&N series race 150 lap features tomorrow.

what a finish. Larson wrecks C. E. Falk on the straight before the checkered, after bumping him in Turn 4. Apparently, Larson didn't get DQ'd, even though they sent other drivers to the back for less in the heat races tonight. Joey Logano got DQ'd on something similar at Irwindale in 2010. SPEED cut away right after the checkered flag, and won't air post-race coverage until RaceHub tomorrow (Tuesday)

That was a total joke. Running through somebody coming off the corner. Should make tonight's races interesting, I've heard several drivers already have that in their minds after they let Larson keep the win.

As for Dale, I was there that day and we all knew it was bad. Didn't get official word until we heard it on the radio sitting in traffic leaving the track. Hit like a ton of bricks, even for somebody that wasn't a "fan" of his. In fact Adam and Kenny's deaths the year prior probably struck me more on a personal level, but losing Dale was something totally different. Much the way I felt when Senna died. I had the utmost respect for their talents even if I didn't "like" them, but I still got sucked into the belief that somehow those talents would make them immune to the dangers of the sport.

I heard Larson is entered in both races tonight, so fireworks should be interesting.

I just watched the final lap of that race. Wow, was that egregious. Putting the bumper to a guy is one thing, but hooking his left rear down the final straight away. Wow. Just wow.

What a joke the new NASCAR.com is. The webpage's text reads like an ad on the side of a hot air balloon. But worse yet, the new Raceview (audio and video) has NOT WORKED in either of the first two races. How can you possibly let that happen?
