I thought the race was pretty exciting? What do you want? Track position is important, making the whole race meaningful, not just the last two where you can tandem your way to the finish.

hammer, good perspective. I heard on radio, and the only usefulness from the new NASCAR app was the in car audio. The leaderboard was lousy (connected to office wifi, not via carrier) on its updates, and in general suffers from the simplicity of the old NASCAR Sprint Cup Mobile app.

---and don't get me started on the new NASCAR.com. It is HORRIBLE to navigate. Just trying to find live timing & scoring links of old for practice yesterday was next to impossible.

2nd duel ho-hum so far just past halfway. field is set as the other of the slowest cars (Bliss) is two laps down.

5/33/15 tried to make a race of it at the end but waited too long, and only succeeded in getting Kenseth out of the groove.

I'll be there. Sitting at our gate at PIT right now This place is so dead. Only had 1 person ahead of me in the security line lol

just watched the first duel on the DVR. The late race restart added a little drama but not much.

It's almost as if these cars need a little more power. I was mistaken a page or two ago. I errantly talked of the 1999 500, when the race I was talking about was actually 2000 -- where Dale Jarrett passed Johnny Benson late but it was mosly the follow the leader. Saw a clip on RaceHub last night that jogged my memory on that. More power (larger holes in the plate) would have helped IMO, but NASCAR is afraid of that 200MPH mark, and has been for 25 years.

started from 7th on back I think, someone got into A. Dillon.

Wow. 2nd big one coming to the checkers on the green-white-checker. Keselowski running 2nd turns leader Regan Smith hard into the wall not far in front of the flagstand. Tony Stewart, running 3rd, wins. Kyle Larson's car went up into the catchfence, piercing it in a number of places, leaving the engine on the grandstand side.

The front end of Larson's car was ripped away, and a gaping hole was cut in the fencing. Pieces of the car sailed into the grandstands and emergency workers could be seen attending to fans.

Ambulance sirens were heard behind the stands, which were briefly shrouded in smoke from Larson's burning engine, which appeared to be wedged into the fence.

A subdued Stewart did not celebrate in Victory Lane.

"The important thing is what going on on the front-stretch right now," the three-time NASCAR champion said. "We've always known, and since racing started, this is a dangerous sport. But it's hard. We assume that risk, but it's hard when the fans get caught up in it.

watching Speed right now, and part of Larson's tire is embedded in the fence. I think the announcer also said that part of his car had debris that hit the upper deck.

wow, engine block is sitting between the barrier and the safety fence.

Catch fence definitely did it's job.

12 to Halifax hospital 2 critically injured, a child and an adult with life threatening injuries. Someone no more than a dozen people away from where the tire ended up had shot a video of the finish and crash. It caught the people's reaction frantically motioning to crews. So chilling.

It started about right where we were sitting. I knew it was bad when I saw stuff flying really high. Never saw anything like that in all the races I've been too.
