This is true, but I think in this instance, it's a legitimate claim :D

Man, I hit one of those a few weeks ago. Ball freaking flies off the club. Good buy for anyone that's interested.

yeah, I was skeptical about how much good clubs could improve my extraordinarily below-average golf game until I got the VRS driver for Christmas...good stuff.

Still haven't gotten the new irons out on the course yet though :(

Was at Round 2 of the WGC Bridgestone Invite at Firestone. Pretty nice course. Got to see Lefty come down 16 (667 yard Par 5), watched Charl Schwartzel shank 2 shots right and put it over the stands onto the green and birdie the same hole, and got to stand within 5 feet of Tiger Woods.

Pretty awesome day. Going to play the Gray Course at OSU's golf club tomorrow, so it gets even better.

Has anyone ever been fitted? I was talking to my buddy who is a 2 or 3 handicap and holds a local course record (shot a 63 at a course near by) and he highly recommended I get fitted with how tall I am. I was thinking Dick's or possibly the one local golf shop here in State College. What do they do at a fitting? Is it really going to help that much? I shot a 78 a few weekends ago with my $150 el cheapo clubs and I'm worried that my game now fits those clubs, how long does it take to get "back to normal" when you switch clubs? So many questions....

someone once asked me - do you buy a pair of pants with your suit and not get them tailored?

it sounds like you are comfortable with your swing. a fitting will only help that. most beginner golfers probably shouldnt get fitted as they are changing their swing so frequently, inconsistent swing path, etc. for a more veteran golfer, i would definitely recommend it. i have had one set of fitted irons and they were like heaven. they have you hit in front of a swing monitor and measure trajectory, spin, ball flight, velocity, etc. from this the data they change a few things on the club from weighting to actual changing of the lie angle. they will change the club to fit your swing so you are hitting the ball in the right spot every time. i would not recommend dicks though. especially not at one of their larger stores. the people there just arent trained well enough to make it worthwhile (at least at the location i was at). i walked out on a fitting there and have been looking for a shop around to go to. ask your pro at the club for recommendations, im sure they know someone.

and getting back to normal, you shouldnt notice that big of a difference. subtleties in ball flight, etc. where you may have had an iron that was consistently leaking out you will start to hit the ball flight you want.

I've never had a suit tailored, so I don't fit into your analogy  but I do understand what you're saying. I might wait to go at the end of the season.

Have fun, I have played Iron Masters but has been a good six or seven years since the last time I was there. Very tight course, but not overly long.

Changed my swing where all my weight is on my front foot to start the swing. It has greatly improved my golf game and everything feels more in control as I play.

Doesn't matter how far you hit if you.can't hit straight or putt.

Speaking of, I changed one small thing in my driver swing (straightened my left arm before the take back) and now my drives are straighter and longer. Don't know why I didn't try it till Saturday, but I did, and finally broke 90 with an 83 on the shorter of OSU's 2 golf courses. Had my best 9 with a 40 on the front.

Taylor made is releasing a new driver Friday the SLDR (which I'm pretty sure is just the mizuno fast track repurposed) that is supposedly the hottest driver ever. I've seen reviews from launch monitors where users have seen double digit increases in ball speed over the most recent R1 which is pretty amazing from a year to year model change

Well the big thing for me is that with my back leg being the formerly injured one, I was having a very difficult time transferring the weight from my back leg through my swing the further in the round I got.

If you can hit the ball straight consistently, it's a pretty easy course. The woods are right up on you, so if you have any sort of shape to your shot, you might be hoping the woods give it back to you.

Was able to purchase the sldr a few days early from a dude I know. Freaking incredible. Easily adding 25 yards right now and I don't have it fully tuned in yet with the weight and loft. Really nice soft, muted sound too.
