This thread has awesome things I never want to see in real life.

Only reason I hate insects is that feeling of being walked on.

with the wing markings and the antenna (and huge size) id say it kind of looks like something of the saturniiade family probably silk moth but never have seen on that color

the wing markings of saturniids are very distinct. i have a pretty boss insect collection of over 150+ insects and had to identify each down to the family level so i have a pretty good eye for what to look for

Yeah, it’s definitely a Cecropia Moth. I would occasionally see them back when I lived in rural Butler County. I’m really surprised you came across one during the day like that. They aren’t very common these days. When growing up, I could go years between sightings, and we lived in the middle of a forest.

hard to tell without seeing the legs but maybe a cave cricket or a bush cricket?
