Gearing up for Black Friday Ads season.

Target has indicated they will have their sales 11/27-11/29 stretching the "Black Friday" concept again this year.

I was hoping for an Android TV annoucement by now. The newer Google TV boxes were updated to include Chromecast functionality, but mine was part of the first generation and was too old.

I think I'd like something with Chromecasting ability, but it has to be hard wired to my network. Plus Android TV's demo was shown getting premium cable, so that hopefully is premiered soon and Miss Claus has time to pick the perfect one.

Great deal for T Mobile customers:

They are giving a T Mobile branded Asus RT-AC68U router (normally retails for $200) for free to all customers with a wifi calling capable phone.

You can buy it outright for $99, or "rent" it for free. They were charging a $25 refundable deposit for rentals, but thats being waived for now. So basically I walked out of there today with a $200 router as long as I promised to give it back when/if I cancel service.

All the Black Friday ads are up at www.bfads.net

Nothing jumping out at me this season, but lots of TVs and "cheap" versions of Beats by Dre headphones.

Chromecast w/ 2 months of Hulu+ for $23 at Best Buy
Xbox One controller for $40 at Best Buy
40% off all clothes at Target
Microsoft Band if the sale price looks good at Microsoftstore.com

Use wifi connection rather than cell tower to make calls.

For at least 4 years I've gotten free wifi calling on T Mobile. Its built into most of their smartphones. Unless things have changed it doesnt work if you have an unlocked phone you got elsewhere.

Fitbit itse;f are releasing better ones after the holiday with the Charge HR and Surge which is a full blown smart watch. Jawbone is also good as is the Garmin since the battery lasts a while and it also has GPS. The fitbit Charge which is like the current basic but has an LED for clock and other notifications like caller ID is available now.

if the wife wants a Fitbit get her a giftcard to Target and tell her to wait until fitbit releases the Fitbit Charge HR.
my Fitbit has been very useful to me but my chief complaint has always been that there's no heart rate monitor. the Charge HR is going to change all of that.
imo though Fitbit is really blowing it by not having that model along with the smartwatch model out by Christmas. "early 2015" is what they're saying.

amazon and best buy have been doing 3.99 blu rays and blu ray deals all week long. I got Silence of the Lambs, Platoon, and Independence day all for 3.99. Picked up first 3 seasons of walking dead for 9.99 when amazon had them for that price. Lots of cheap movies to be had without even leaving the house.
