i currently have the iphone 4. had the 3. i need a new one, my screen is cracked in half and both my buttons are broken. i use it mainly for text, work email, and web browsing (lgp and fantasy sports) and game play is a distant 4th. is there a different option to consider other than the iphone?

TBH I'd go with something with a huge screen if that's what you're using it for. I love my Galaxy SII Skyrocket w/ ATT but it was definitely an acquired taste.

Very disappointed that the new maps app doesn't offer public transit directions. I drive most of the time, but it's nice to have when you are close to a large city like Philly.

Apple probably thinks that Hipsters are back to riding bikes(which they don't have maps for I believe) and driving their beat up VW's.

In due time updates will happen in regards to those maps. I can't seem them neglecting it.

Pretty much the only thing I was looking forward to in the updated Maps app was the turn by turn voice directions. Of course I have an iPhone 4 and voice directions is only on 4S and 5. Nevertheless, someone told me to check out the Waze app instead, and it's pretty good.

Settings>Wi-Fi>("Your Network")> [the blue circle arrow icon]

Scroll to bottom of screen and set HTTP Proxy to auto

I updated. Nothing too amazing on the 4. Maps is whatever. Wifi works fine.

I'm definitely going to check out the Samsung S3 this weekend. My iPhone 5 isn't shipping for 2 weeks, so I can ditch it this weekend if I have to. Hopefully ATT doesn't do something stupid like auto-renew my contract even though I cancelled the order from Apple (I know they will /sigh)
