This question is humongous big.
I could be mean and say
but I won't.
Then there is the approach of changing things like wars and the holocaust which people often go to, but despite the horrible atrocities, that would also change almost everything around today. A lot of heroes were born from those horrible times, and a lot of technological advances were made (which does not replace those atrocities, but you couldn't even comprehend the changes today that would be if those things didnt happen). Even still, if your "one thing" was to say, kill Hitler, who is to say some other maniac would not do worse things?
This isn't really a question that gets answered but a conversation that takes place. So, to simplify this, I am going to limit it to the US and what I believe is something that causes the most frustration today.
So I would probably try to figure out and change our current political system and, perhaps mainly, its two party set up. Perhaps with a better functioning system (where people vote and are elected not by parties or platforms, but by the qualities of the individual person and their beliefs) then many other issues could be solved and a better society will result. So hopefully things like health care, wage gaps, assistance programs, taxes...list whatever common other political platform is always argued about to no actualy resolution...hopefully they would have better results.
