This is my main gripe with these events is that they try to make them completable. Tough Mudder is the same way. The difference, besides the distance, is that Warrior Dash make their obstacles slightly easier. The barbed wire is higher, there's no danger of getting shocked and the obstacles are generally easier. I feel that WD (or whoever the parent company is, Red Frog or something) sees they're competing against TM and chooses to find a slightly different demographic that may otherwise be scared off by the slightly more difficult obstacles.
When I got to the last water station at mile 2, I was surprised that it was almost over.
And finally, how do these people sleep at night? They make money hand over fist and still rely on volunteers extensively at their events. "So you're making millions of dollars and you want me to work for free? Sure!!" Unreal. And then they charge $20 for parking!!!

yubb wrote:The rates start at $35? I thought we got in as soon as we could at $65.
Yeah, I don't get above 23 miles per gallon. I did between 75/80 the whole way there so I made great time, but that's not the optimal speed for good MPG.

yubb wrote:I think $35 is a fair price for this lengh of a race. Someone told me next year's is in Butler, which makes that even more attractive. Still, I'm looking for something more difficult.
Death Race anyone? http://www.youmaydie.com/

Also, can anyone recommend me a fast ab workout routine? Like 5-10 minutes a day or something.

Just get a core ball and do a core burn out circuit with some weights... should take like 15-20min

Froggy and I are zombies in the run in October near Baltimore. 15-20 minutes is good for abs. 5-10 isn't enough imo.

Not looking for like a six pack, just want a quick core workout that will compliment my running training.

I really don't think 5-10 minutes is going to give you any results period. Not even endurance.

Yep. I've been there a year or so. I like it a lot. The fact that they include personal training in your monthly fee is awesome. My only gripe is that while the 24 hours thing is cool, that's only M-F. Saturday and Sunday they close at like 5PM. I'd rather you just be open til like 11 every night. I can't count the number of times I've felt like going on a Saturday or Sunday then realize it's like 4:30 already.

But I was happy with my 20 min 5K! I'm trying to find some late season 5K in the next month or so. Anyone have suggestions for the Pittsburgh or Cleveland area?
