My issue with the rigidity of the draft overall is that when we take over a month to draft, guys can get hurt and your plans can get sort of screwed. If I really need a catcher and draft one early and he gets injured in the spring, it'd be nice to be able to pick up another one in the draft.

Yeah definitely a risk but in that case if its a scarce position like catcher, draft a second one instead of drafting a 4/5th OF or 10th pitcher and just pick that replacement up after the draft when you make a DL move. If there were no bench spots then I'd agree but there are enough were you don't get totally locked out if someone gets hurt.

After the draft starts, no players should be able to be bought out until after the draft is over. I am also on board with not being able to put suspended players on the DL.

Ruiz isn't available for the draft, LITT ends the draft one MLB player short(because of the Ruiz buyout) and can then sign someone, 1 FBY is used. It seems straight forward given the rules we established.

The free agency pool after the draft is pretty deep in this league. Injuries can happen anytime. Yes, if it happens in the draft you're a little more in the weeds, but replacements are there.

Just preference. I prefer deeper rosters in Fantasy.

I am fine with the roster spots as is. I think fantasy rosters should try to be as close to a real team as possible. One util spot is enough since that is effectively the same as a DH. I wouldn't be opposed to expanding the bench but I think we're at a good number already.

Really didn't want to pick Grilli there, but the closers were all disappearing. I considered grabbing a closer last round but thought there were plenty left...not anymore
