Yeah, I would think within a week or two he'll go somewhere. Whether that's a contending type team that he wants to go to stepping up or he ends up taking a Pittsburgh type deal and trying to get himself flipped to a contender come the deadline.

Posted this in the wrong thread because I got confused- every position player except D'Arnaud is already in camp.

Jim Bowden on ESPN has Pedro as one of his 7 MLB players that he expects to break out this season. Dear God, please be right.

So impeccable that he's working for ESPN and not as a GM.

I think every player profile article I've looked at about the pirates since around the beginning of spring training has talked about how they worked out hard this offseaon. Such a cope out to blame sucking last year on being "out of shape".

I get unnerved by those articles....I'm not sure if I should blame the writer for taking that angle because the sparks optimism, or if I should be angry at the player because implying that you worked out "hard" this offseason, means you slacked off last season and that impacted your performance.

for what its worth, the wall street journal ranked each teams offseason performance in terms of net WAR gained/lost. buccos finsished 7th. angels finished 1st (Not a shocker). the next best NL Central team was houston who finished like 14th.

Is that because el blimpo substituted oatmeal for donuts and chicken breasts for pizza this offseason?

What would it be if the Pirates just let their fantastic young players like Chase D'Arnaud and Rudy Owens play all the time?

How did Braun win his appeal? This aggrevates me. I say the 1st time he steps up to the plate against the Pirates this season, just throw at him!

He won his appeal? First player in 30 attempts to do so. Not surprising that he's reigning MVP. I think I'm done with baseball.

No reasoning was given for Thursday's decision.
