that's tough. I think maybe Ben over Harrison, but I can't argue too much against it. Cutch is definitely top 5.

This is good. Does college count as well?

Mine:

1. Sidney Crosby
2. Geno Malkin
3. Mike Wallace
4. Cutch
5. Troy P

I look at the best combination of speed, skill, stregth and just overall ability. I'd have Troy higher if this was 3 years ago, probably #2, but he is declining.

Ben is a great QB, but I think he is a fat slob.

Yea, I really struggled with 4,5, and who to leave off. If most valuable, then yea.. Ben would probably be #1, but just going by "best" I figured Harrison is better at his position than Ben is at his... was definitely a tough call though

1) Sid
2) Geno
3) Polamalu

4) McCutchen
5) Roethlisberger

I think Sid and Geno are definitely ahead of Polamalu. Those three are well ahead of #4 as well.

I thought about knocking Troy behind Geno because of a slight decline, but I still think he's amazing.

I guess someone could make an argument for Ray Graham, but his torn acl provides some questions there

I agree with this list. The only thing I may switch is putting Troy at 4 and Cutch at 3

If you're defining athlete as that -- i.e. pure athelete, can play any sport -- it would look something like this:

1) Polamalu
2) McCutchen
3) Wallace
4) Geno
5) Harrison
6) Pouncey

Hockey players aren't that great of "athletes" in that sense of the term, and Sid is definitely way more skill, smarts, and grit, than athleticism. If the NHL had a decathalon, Sid would not do well.

Yea... if I did my list how NAN it would be...

1. Harrison
2. Woodley
3. Mccutchen
4. Troy
5. Wallace

I always think LBs are the most impressive combination of speed / strength

C'mon - Troy is most impressive in terms of speed/size/strength. It shows every week.

If all 53 steelers lined up and you gave their average rank in speed / strength on the team, Harrison / Woodley would be above Troy imo

I mean, you're arguing with someone who had Troy number 2 in the "best player in his position / sport" criteria I used.. so you don't have to tell me how great he is lol

And agility? Interesting. Throw in Wallace and that's definitely your top four. I think Pouncey would be in that discussion for his size. For example, Warren Saap had to be one of the most athletic guys to ever play in the NFL. Guy was 300+ and would dominate the agility drills against much smaller linemen.

Yea... Troy's definitely up there in that. I've just always felt like lbs were freaks of everything combined, so maybe I'm just biased but those are big, fast, agile guys.

The most athletic LB on the Steelers is Timmons. Speed, power, size, agility. Dude is a pure athlete. If pure athletics are involved my list is:

1) Troy
2) Timmons
3) Cutch
4) Brown
5) Geno
HM) Fleury

Bill Stull is actually on the injured list for the Power. He's become a BIG star, as in fat.

All he does is tweet pictures of diner foods he's eating from Pamela's, DiLuca's, etc.

My top 5 would look similar to the first top 5 listed.
