Give someone an inch, they will take 10 miles

Ultimately it's rather trivial. Eric Crouch has a Heisman. Gino Torretta won the award over Marshall Faulk. The award is more about media narrative. Manziel had a fine season, and the world isn't going to spin off its axis because he may not have been the best player or because I happen to believe someone else deserved the award more. Most people can understand that there's no absolute right answer when considering a subjective award. I'm just trying to figure out when Kansas State went to the ACC.

I think there's a better than average chance he goes to the NFL this draft.

I think you have a solid grasp of the award and how things shook down re: the manziel narrative...most people didn't know who manziel was before the bama game. The CBS/SEC machine spun their natl champ to be losing into another programs eventual heisman winner.
And as an aside, Torretta deserved that trophy

If the argument is that Manziel won the Heisman because A&M beat Bama, then it logically follows that had Bama won that game Manziel would not have won the Heisman no matter the stats. Manziel supporters don't seem to want to admit that, probably because it makes zero sense to award someone a trophy for being the best individual player in football as a result of the team's success.
Torretta deserved that trophy as much as UNC players deserved the grades their professors gave them for not coming to class.
