Gas Prices... what the hell?

It takes more energy to make a gallon of ethanol than a gallon of ethanol can produce. It's not the answer. Its the problem.

You heard what President Obama said... everyone has to pay their fair share. This is just a penalty on driving.... that trickles down to everything else. Wait, did I say trickle down?

Bump. How long before $4 a gallon is the norm?

5 years or so.

Right now, people get scared at the $4, so they cut back and stop driving. Gas goes down and usage goes back up. But just like anything, $3+ is the norm. As the upper $3s become the norm, $4 won't look as scary and we'll start the next trend to $5.

But people are still scared of $4. In a few years, they won't be.

I'd say in 5 years gas will be $8 a gallon at least.

And I thought my $56 for 3/4 tank was bad. Let's estimate and say that's $70 a tank. That's still turrible for a 4 cylinder, although I have to throw 93 in it.

However, that's not nearly as bad as almost $200. I forgot about the days where I had my Jimmy and it was costing me about $300-350/mo in gas.

2004 Saturn ion 4 cylinder. 12 gallon tank so I average about 37-40 per fill up. I guess this is ok?

When do they start mixing fall/winter gas? That is supposedly cheaper than the additives refineries use for summer gas.

Do you have a 1.8t? I recently traded in my Honda and now drive a 04 VW 1.8t and don't get nearly that mileage with 93 octane.

perhaps thats it i think I can only squeeze like 13 gallons in. But still, Im averaging about 350 miles a tank
