My wildcard playoff predictions:

NFC:
Seattle at Washington - Both teams have similar offenses but Seattle has the better defense which should only get better as Brandon Brown returns from suspension. Even though Seattle will be playing in D.C. after flying cross country, Seattle will win because they'll be able to shut down the Redskins offense more times than the Skins will be able to shut down Seattle.

Minnesota at Green Bay - a rematch from yesterday's 3 point win by the Vikings. This time the game will be in Green Bay. The home crowd noise will make it more difficult for an inexperienced Christian Ponder to make some of the throws he was able to make yesterday. AP could once again be a difference maker but I have to go with Green Bay to win.

AFC:
Cincinnati at Houston - A lot of the experts will be picking Cincy to win this one. Houston has been trending down and Cincy has been hot of late. Both teams are similar - Above Average QBs, Above Average Defense, Star WR. The difference is that the Texans have Arian Foster and will be playing at home. I'll pick the Texans to win.

Indianapolis at Baltimore - The Colts and Chuck Pagano have karma on their side. The Ravens won only one of their last 5 and have been playing poorly on offense. I'll pick the Colts and Andrew Luck.

* - I'm so happy to be picking them for anything at this point in the season. This is one my all time great surprises in my sports-following life. I literally picked them to be the exact inverse of their current record. I couldn't be happier to be wrong.

Cowher in Philly? Cowher dealing with the Philly sports media would be hilarious. He'd give them a lot of s(p)it back. The phans will hate his accent and the fact that they had to get a guy from Pittsburgh. But then they'll will love him for putting the media in its place. Nevermind.

He is paid far too well by CBS to consider leaving to deal with Jay Cutler, IMO. Personally I think the only job that would get him out of CBS would be if the Giants job opened up in the next year or so, but I don't think coaching is all that important to him anymore.

The Chiefs owner basically said in so many words that Pioli will be fired and that the owner is going to control the head coach hiring himself.

Bears finished 10-6 after losing their starter to injury for a period of time and loses were to the Packers twice, SF, Seattle, Minnesota, and Houston. Makes no sense

Well, I personally don't have an issue with the firing...the Bears haven't made the playoffs for five out of the last six years. I'm more just shocked they actually pulled the trigger.

For the first time in 14 years, the Eagles are looking for a head coach. According to Howard Eskin of FOX 29 and WIP radio, owner Jeffrey Lurie’s initial list has six names on it.

The candidates are, per Eskin, Penn State coach Bill O’Brien, Falcons offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter, 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman, Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians, and Oregon coach Chip Kelly.

All six candidates are offensive coaches. They also are all white, which means that under the Rooney Rule the Falcons will have to interview at least one minority candidate. Which will move the list to at least seven candidates.

Isn't that insulting though? You're obviously not one of their choices and you're getting an interview (a worthless exercise in both time and travel considering you aren't getting the job) just based on race...that's pretty, um, racist...go figure...
